Hi there,

after having the MLB season thread I was wondering if there is anyone except me interested in the NHL?

Playoffs starting soon, any guesses who will win it this year?
Any hopes?

Go Hawks! I hope Detroit stays in it long enough to get eliminated by them. I've got the caps or pens coming out of the east(shocking picks I know).

Well I am a die hard Wings fan, and I think they can win the West now that they are all healthy. That said, the obvious choice to win the cup is the Caps, and I really don't see any team beating them in a 7 game series.

I am hoping for Chicago or San Jose to be honest. Chicago's goaltending is horrendous right now, and San Jose always chokes in the first round. Vancouver is fine because Luongo has been awful since the Olympics. Only team I don't really want to face is Phoenix.

I agree that Huet sucks, but Niemi is actually quite good and has potential.

Definitely have a good chance at taking this thing down, esp w/ Luongo coming off his Gold medal performance (yeah thats right Americans...suck on that) and if the offense plays like they can (they are the most variable offense in the NHL I swear) Canucks can definitely take it all the way.

PS, yes I am originally American...but I'm Canadian as well and I learned hockey here, so eat silver USA.
