It's First-person stories and short fiction stories. There is usually a theme to the episode with a couple of segments that all relate in some way.

at some point i just searched the itunes store for 'history' or something like that and found it.
a couple other history based podcasts that are good are by Lars Brownworth
one is called Norman Centuries and the other is 12 Byzantine Emperors... both quite good. the former is just getting started and the latter is finished (so i forgot about it when i first made my list b/c i deleted it)
another one that i'm finished with that i liked was Astronomy 161 and 162 by Richard Pogge. he just recorded his lectures from his intro Astronomy classes at his university (he's the prof) pretty interesting stuff if you're into astronomy (or want to be). I learned a lot and i didnt have to pay or take any tests =)
and finally, one i'm just getting into (and only has a few episodes) is the Freakenomics Podcast. if you read and liked the books you'll probably liek the show. same sort of ideas.
Awesome. I will definitely be checking out those 2 history podcasts as well as the Astronomy. My inner geek is happy. I could never have found them as I have programmed my computer to immediately self-destruct if I ever install an Apple product.
Thanks!

Security Now! Subscribed to this after getting my Stars account hacked to learn about how to better secure my computer and accounts. Kind of high level stuff here but they do a good job of explaining things.
For comedic relief:
Two Jacks in the Hole
Uhh Yeah Dude. Enjoy both shows for different reasons.
