Anyone ever tried listening to these tracks? I had been reading up on it for a while and found some cheap apps on my iPhone to give a try. The warnings are awesome -- may cause seizures, etc., etc. Can't tell if it's placebo or not but the one I'm using right now -- MindWave really seems to work quite well. I fell asleep last night without melatonin for the first time in months, and I tried the coffee and creativity tracks earlier today; both seemed to have quite positive effects.

Binaural Beats and Brainwave syncrhonization for more cool reads.

Fancy new age stuff, but I think I dig it. Smile

Sounds interesting. And even if it's a placebo, if it works, it works.

I tried some of these brainwave entrainment things with a special program. I have a hard time with these. It tires my brain like nothing does. So I just gave up on them.

http://www.mediahead.com/mindwave/ doesnt seem to do anything at all? No sound whatsoever?

It's an iPhone app, not MP3s.

There is a program based on the same kinda stuff called i-Doser. But it simulates different drugs, cocaine, ecstasy, acid, nitrous, etc

Sounds quiet interesting but repetitive noises make my brain go mad. The ticking of a watch or any other sound that follows a pattern drives me insane when I try to rest.
But the theory behind this phenomenon is quiet interesting, and certainly people react very differently to environmental noises.
I love to listen to the sound of rain and wind when trying to fall asleep. Or anything else that doesn't have a repetitive pattern. Also when studying or trying to focus I usually listen to those CD's.
I used to take sleeping pills because I was not able to sleep sometimes for several nights in a row. Listening to the sound of raindrops falling, and soft wind blowing helped me to fix this problem, and now I fall asleep like a baby within 15 minutes after I lay down.

I tried stuff like this a few years back. I'm of the opinion that it's mostly BS. Pretty much no different than just meditating and other state-controlling methods. If it works for you, more power to you though.
