About The Thin Red Line Subscribe to

DeucesCracked welcomes fan favorite and new instructor Grindcore to the fold with this original video series about that thin, red line – nonshowdown winnings. This winter Bart will take a look at some common misconceptions about the red line and discuss the ins and outs of how small stakes 6max players can pick up previously unreachable profit.

How do you run so good?

Karma from how I run at my regular stakes.

these GC videos are something special for sure...GC says something in a certain spot and I am thinking hey another concept I never really thought about...and they seem to be coming.

Having watched loads of videos at DC, CR, Leggo, Stox...I should recognize loads of concepts even (if I am not able to apply them)...but many I don't.

And he seems to be fumbling along and 2nd guessing himself as he goes along.

Many players have the theory lingo figured out but GC seems to be able to bridge that with proven results...sexy graphs.

Haha, awesome. These videos are amazing by the way- the amount of value in them is ridiculous. I haven't had my mind blow like this in a long time.

Hi Grindcore,

Could you tell us where you get your bedrock knowledge of NLHE? You seem to have a vast and very deep number of ways of analysing lines, situations and general hand-reading. I'm thinking a lot of this must be stuff you've worked out yourself or through top-notch coaching because a lot of the stuff I hear you talking about isn't really discussed in the literature.

Thanks.

Mostly through thinking myself I'm afraid. Coaching helps speed things up though. But yeah, my game is pretty unique.

K7o hand; I really think you should bet the turn here. If the regs bets you can't fold, and if he has a draw he will not bet. If you bet he will always call given pot odds, and by betting you will get value from the fish. You are also a lot deeper with the fish than with the reg, so even if the reg has you beat you can win a lot of money back from the fish.

Your 4 Bet is really shallow. I see this alot and Im wondering is this a standard 4 bet? When I 4 Bet I usually shove or make it like 3x the 3 bet.

I would prob make it like $36-40 here or shove if I were to 4 Bet.

3x the 3b is too large. When you have position, your goal is to put villain into a push/fold spot, so the best 4b size is the smallest size that makes him push/fold (that way you lose less money when he shoves over your bluffs).

This is pretty basic stuff, I don't really wanna elaborate on it too much as it has been extensively covered in other videos. If anyone can refer pohlr96 to the exact series/episode, please do so, but I think there should be an episode covering the math of 4bets in either the mathematics of NL holdem series on here, or professor plotkin.

I love your series. You're playing so "out of the box" and analyzing each spot individually. You really make clear what an "advanced" poker player should be capable of doing. Thanks a lot for that, your game is inspiring Smile

Hands that make the nuts. A5s is better than KQo if you're deep there, while for 100bbs I'd rather have KQo.
