hey guys
i know everyone loves to use stats rare that i find someone that doesnt. im wondering though how useful they really are sometimes.
i was playing this hand earlier today and i got in this spot and thought my stats actually mean nothing...
basically playing against a weakish reg who i have 800 hands on and a 3 bet stat of 3%. this session however i have been pounding on him big time. On 1 of the tables we just had an allin pre AKvQQs. same time he c/r bluffed me on another table. then i get dealt AJs OTB i opn he 3 bets SB... now i know his a 3 betting nit however because of our recent history should i disregard the stats and call pre??????
also if i should disregard the stats does that mean that stats are only good when there is no real metagame going on???
one last question if everyone could only play 1 or 2 tables would huds be completely useless??

I think stats are very useful if you use them in a smart way. I mostly use Vpip/pfr and 3b%. Then i keep alot of notes on tendencies etc.

Alot of other stats needs a huge sample and i think most people overuse the value of them and instead of concentrating on what type of hands he takes different lines with they just look at a number in their hud.

You should use them as a guide rather than rely on them imo.

VPIP/PFR will give you a general idea of what kind of player you're up against but unless you have a massive sample, most of the other stats are either meaningless or irrelevant to the situation.
