Villain is definitely fishy, not a huge whale though. 45/24 over 300 hands, most at 4 or 3 handed. He 3b around 7% at this time. I saw him call a 3b with A7o then raise a cbet full pot on QQT, bet 1/4 pot on A turn, and check river.

I open BTN with 5Club5Heart, he makes a very small 3b, I call to setmine. Stacks are $150

Flop 7Diamond5Diamond3Club $14
Villain bets $7, Hero raises to $18, Villain Calls
Turne:6Diamond $50
Villain bets $12, Hero raises to $52, Villain shoves

Pot is $230 costing me $75 to call.
Raising the turn seems like fat value to me, not thin at all. Vs the tighest range {JJ+ /w diamond, AKdd, AQdd, AJdd} I have 65%. Is this hand well played?

Raise the flop bigger and don't fold the turn.

if you are calling pre to setmine then folding boards you hit your set on then you should be thinking pretty hard about your preflop strategy.

The only mistake I can see is the turn raise.

That seems like very over simplified advice.

That is my main question of this post. Why is that turn raise bad? Vs a tight calling range of {JxJd+, AJdd,AQdd,AKdd} I'm a 64% favorite. Doesn't that make the turn a clear raise?

Why should villain lead with JxJd+. That part of his range is checking (should be).

I assumed when he leads ~1/5 pot, there is a high chance he is just attempting some sort of blocking bet, especially coming from a bad player.

And you want to play for stacks on a 4 straight, 3 flush board?

Kind of. The 4 to a straight doesn't seem that relevant, because if he can have a 4 here, he can have all kinds of random garbage like ADiamond7Club. I wouldn't want to play for stacks here against a competent opponent, but I somewhat want to vs this guy.

Would you valuebet the turn if checked to?

I do see some merits in calling turn. What is your plan on any river? I would x/f any diamond, and call bets 1/2pot or less, and fold to larger bets.
