villain looked like a decent player.
- can i call here with my 99 ?
my reasoning was he could 4bet bluff me becasue we were deeper.
the rest of his hands are TT+ and AK.
- So the flops comes A high. i think he would fold everything else besides AK and AA. So i 3bet him here.

is this a decent play ? or just spewy

We basicaly turning our hand into a bluff there and hoping he doesnt have an A and fold the rest.

I think he is gonna be pretty honest there since he have to protect his whole stack.

Btw, I am the only one who tought about just calling with this hand IP ?

Yeah 4way, we have pos and we are deep but by doing this, we just hope he is gonna call and pay too much on the flop or fold it preflop.

I think we can play our hand in a single raised pot as well, because if he 4bet you preflop, you have to muck.

The problem now is we are plating 99 in a 4bet pot, 150bb deep, with the only advantage of position on a A high board.

I dont like the play, just call IP or fold to his 4bet/ cbet. But I do prefer flatting since we dont bleed money by 3bet-fold or 3bet-call-fold.

Why are you so confident that he will 4b bluff more often when you are 150bb deep?

i'm not really that confident. it's more a question.
when i 4bet(bluff) when i'm deeper i find people are more straight forward because there's is still a lot of money behind...

Or is this a wrong assumption ?

do you have any more reads on the villain? like his fold to 3bet, 4bet stat, vpip/pfr would be pretty helpful

he plays 23/19 over 266 hands with 6%3bet
fold to 3bet = 40%
4bet = 40%

why can't we turn 99 into bluff since he would fold everything else besides Ak or AA? or won't he ?

that flopraise? no go

cant say what to do preflop, you know him better

the lighter his valuerange gets here the more valuable is raising 99

but folding cant be that bad

Because we want to flop a strong hand vs the top of this range.

Assuming he would fold everything else like you said, then taking trash hand instead of 99 will do the same thing no ?
