Dont have villains exact stats here, but assume he was a taggish kinda player, with a small gap between vpip and pfr.

What would you do on the turn? Default to check behind or bet it (if so, how much)? And on the river ?
what if the river would have been like a deuces of diamonds ?
edit: btw, i flatcall preflop because his fold to 3bet was 100% (and i had been 3betting him often and light), so i wanted to take a small risk to win more.

Turn check behind seems fine. I don't think it really matters whether the river is an A or a 2 here unless villain thinks you are bluff raising this flop often with A high, because he might be less inclined to bluff here with a draw. River depends on how wide you think he's opening in MP (79s,9To,57s,J8?)...but I would probably just fold here.

well, deuce on the river might make a difference if he's vbetting light with say A8s. Also missed draws might bluff the river since i checked the turn behind on a river deuce, but not on an ace.
What would you do on the turn vs a fish? (like say a 50/9). That would almost certainly make the turn a bet, right? Since he can call with all kinds of draws, 2nd pair, etc

Since the board is so dry there's nothing wrong with checking back and then betting the river if you don't think villain is sophisticated enough to go for a c/r in that sort of situation. Otherwise b/f the turn and check back the river if you don't think you can get two streets of value.

All the more reason to 3bet again, the more you 3bet the more chance of him spazzing out.
