Poker Stars $100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players - View hand 1773266

Hero (SB): $121.75 - VPIP: 24, PFR: 20, 3B: 7, AF: 3.5, Hands: 87399
BB: $200.69 - VPIP: 17, PFR: 11, 3B: 3, AF: 1.6, Hands: 156
UTG: $40.00 - VPIP: 43, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 0.0, Hands: 7
CO: $102.75 - VPIP: 20, PFR: 19, 3B: 8, AF: 3.0, Hands: 254
BTN: $60.98 - VPIP: 23, PFR: 22, 3B: 11, AF: 9.5, Hands: 198

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with T Heart K Club
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, UTG calls $3

Flop: ($9.00) 5 Spade T Club J Diamond (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $4.00, Hero calls $4

Turn: ($17.00) 4 Diamond (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $32.00, Hero needs 40% odds

I can cbet flop/ I can c/c flop, I liked to c/c this time, but he shoves turn, I need 40%, so I made a stove:

Board: 5s Tc Jd 4d
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 40.427% 40.43% 00.00% 1174 0.00 { KcTh }
Hand 1: 59.573% 59.57% 00.00% 1730 0.00 { JJ-TT, 55, AdQd, AJs, Ad9d, KJs+, Kd9d, JTs, 98s, 8d7d, AJo, KJo+, JTo, 98o }

in the stove are the best value hands and the strongest bluf hands. I think this is almost worst case scenario. I think he will valuebet his valuehands a normal sizing and shove river a lot more times than shoving them on turn. I think it's a lot of times just a draw.

thoughts?

I think I prefer cbetting here when I have no idea about how villain is going to play postflop.

It's tough to say what he's doing this with readless. I see some fish shoving any Jx because they are "scared" of the draws. Others will just spazz out and shove their draws/air.

Cbet flop, as played fold.

We pretty much always have the nuts on the flop, why did you check?

would rather c-bet, easier to know where you are.......onloy hands I see him doing this with is QQ+ air...can probably dbl barrell here for thin value and be able to fold for a cheaper price.

it's good to put yourself in some unusual spots, but i'd prefer if you decided beforehand based on something like "as far as i can tell, checking and betting should induce different mistakes but for about the same +ev"

obv we cannot imagine every way it plays out, but look to get this kind of learning in when you're not really giving up money.
