Sorry...I know Im beating a dead horse. Just bugs me to hear that this is how he had me pegged after one hand in which my kings were outflopped by 45.

Last comment:

At 37:50 he talks about the possibility of me having AA and says that because my preflop sizing was "small" (3.5x), he discounts aces because "these types of guys dont want to get their aces beat so they raise bigger", ignoring the fact that I opened with KK for $35 in the first hand. Or is it only AA that I don't want beaten?

Note for future play against me: I tend to make my preflop bet size uniform regardless of the strength of my hand. Perhaps in earlier position I'll size my hand bigger, but thats position based not based on the strength of my hand.

An open of $35 vs $35 over one limper. I think that this makes a huge difference.

There was no limper in the second hand. The SB called, and you were the BB.

99% sure there was a limper which is why I squeezed and thought that you were weak. I also mentioned the limper on the show. This is the last time I am going to respond to the details in these hands as obviously you and I remember them so differently.

I honestly don't see why there's a point to this discussion.

Regardless of who you "actually are" he doesn't have this information, he makes his decision based on what he thinks and is analyzing his decisions based on that, not on information he has from future hands / discussions well after the hand takes place.

I don't play in your live game, but in alot of games getting KK in on 876tt in a single raised pot is pretty bad. I don't think him labelling you as a weaker player based on this is a grossly poor play.

Have you listened to the podcast?

If he said that he thought my play with KK was spewy and that it influenced his decision on the subsequent hand, that's one thing, and possibly understandable (although I still think you need more evidence than a single hand that isn't nearly as cut and dried as you're making it out to be when you're 100bbs deep rather than 150). But he paints a pretty brutal picture about my level of poker sophistication and all sorts of other projections that justify his play with, essentially, bottom two against a shove.

My only point--the purpose of this thread--is that creating a profile of a player after one hand is a mistake, and possibly a major leak if he's doing it often. The game took place at Hollywood Park, where bad play is the norm (generally speaking), so I dont blame him for assuming I might be as spewy as everyone else, but give me a few more hands to prove it to you.

This is one of the strangest threads ever. A guy who claims he isn't a bad player has given off an image that will help his bottom line, yet he's too petty to be happy about it. I hope most of my opponent's are like OP because I'm guessing his ego leads to a fair amount of tilting.

Even though I'm the biggest winner in my local game over the past couple of years, people in that game don't even realize it. THAT'S A GOOD THING. I don't get my panties in a bunch because they don't respect my game enough to think I'm the best player. I love it when they actually think I make bad plays.

@OP, who the F cares if someone calls you a donk? Get over it. If you get hung up on little crap like that, then you'll waste a good bit of your life focusing on the wrong things.

And let me ask you...if you're 100bbs deep, do you fold KK to a raise on a wet board from the most aggressive guy at the table? Do you call there? How do I play the turn if I do call there? What changes on the turn? It's fold or flop in that spot, and he's not the player I can fold to there--not with those effective stacks. It's the perfect spot for him to semi-bluff, and since all he sees me doing is making a standard cbet, there's no reason for him to think I'm as strong as I was.

Part of my first post:

Do you actually want an opinion of whether Bart had adequate information to label you a recreational player? Possibly. I don't play no-limit but other people on this site do. Try posting in the strategy section.

Or are you trying to criticize him/his podcast?

I really like this post. I think many people I have played with think I am a donk, also some regulars at one of the rooms I play at actually have said to other people that they think I am one of the worst players. This is amazing for me getting action and invites to amazing games. The quicker you realize this is actually amazing and not a reason to get tilted the better for you.

I fully appreciate the value of being seen as a donk.

I was just a bit shocked to hear the amount of information Bart felt he had gathered from one hand that I guarantee is only marginally bad, if bad at all.

But I guess enough has been said.
