Oh, man, hearing the description of the $5-10 and $10-20 games around 39:30 makes me wish I were rolled (and "psychologically rolled") to play these games. Sounds almost like $1-3 with bigger chips.

In essence to merge ranges means playing your value range (strong hands) the same way as your bluffs, so that your opponents can't tell what sort of hand you're playing.
I'm sure others can give a more precise definition.

On a similar topic, Bart, you often still using the term "polarized" to describe ranges when you mean narrow, e.g. someone's range is polarized to big draws or sets. Whereas a polarized range is one that is either very strong or very weak.
