This week: Bart discusses full ring and live play with Sean Nolan. Listen in as they talk about the differences between live and online games and how to take advice from Nolan's popular "Movin on Up: Full Ring" series and apply it to live games.
Sorry for the delay on this one, guys -- we had some code issues that we had to clear out before we could push the update to the server.

Great episode.
Nolan is the sh**. Had me cracking up.
Really like all of the live v. online discussion and the discussion on betting to protect and merging ranges.
"usually I bet to own noobs."
Gonna go watch some Nolan videos, Good Will Hunting and The Departed now.
p.s. Nolan PLO vids!!

Christ. Now Im seriously considering grinding 20 tables of FR, and flatting UTGs with AA from the button. Seriously. Nolan made a ton of great points in here.
BTW, if your reading, Nolan - do you stack or tile when your running 20~ish tables??

Great show. The series is really starting to gel. I love the increased amount of strategy. It's fantastic, best show yet.
Bart, I'm marooned in Central New York but am wondering - does anyone play at Hollywood Park anymore - out by the airport on Century (maybe)? It used to be a great place for weirdness, really soft games and occasional violence. I don't know what it took to get tossed from that joint. There always used to be some guy teetering at the small limit tables on his 17th scotch. He'd be slamming his cards down on the felt as his paycheck evaporated, calling for a new deck. And a clean hot-dog.
Ah, memories . . .

Yeah,
Hollywood Park is still around. Supposedly their 5-10 uncapped NL game can be the softest in town. The problem is, like the Bike, there is only one or two running at the most. I don't like to sit and wait for an hour before getting in a game. At commerce all the 5-10 games are good and there are between 5-8 running at any time. You never have to wait more than 10 minutes.
Hollywood Park also has a regular 20-40 EO game going. If it was 40-80 I'd frequent the place more often. 20-40 is just too small for me in a split pot game.

God, what a place. Keep your wallet in your front pocket.
I have a real question for Nolan. I noticed you have a lot of seemingly unique and unconventional perspectives about full-ring cash play that seem to work for you. I'm curious who and what your influences are, and what books you've absorbed that helped turn you into the grinder you are today. I just finished Harrington's Cash Game Series and Professional No Limit Holdem by our own Matt Flynn, et. al. Throw me a bone and recommend a superhip NLHE text for a full-ring grinder whose "movin' on up".

Also my favorite episode yet.. It had more of the Cash Plays Conversation feel tbh - less of a "linear dialogue" if that makes sense (still enjoyed the others). I'm a HU guy now for the most part, but when I played ring games it was always 6-max. I remember kind of accidently clicking one of Nolan's FR video a month or so ago and being like "oops" but then ended up watching the whole thing and loving it. Great convo guys, great points, and love the laid-back dont-give-a-sh*t humor.
Another thing I love is there seems to be so many b-towners rep'n on DC. Makes me feel like we're a close fam <3 yay.
And Bart, I'll try to get some emails in
