Bart, the hand you opened talking about was def spewy imo - I know you know, but just the way you described the opponent, and the fact that it was multi-way and a dry board, I don't think there's even an argument for trying to get value on the river w/ a min-raise. He's never leading the river w/ worse than a T, and you're def in a way ahead way behind spot where the only hand you can hope to get value from with a raise is worse 3's, which isn't often enough imo, esp because he most likely isn't calling the flop w/ bottom PR.
What do you think..?
Also, Baluga kept referring to wanting to have the absolute nuts when playing deep, and that having the T blocker makes it very hard for someone to have the nuts on a T22 board, but uh.. The nuts would be 22, and Eastgate had the case 2 blocker, so maybe Eastgate should have level 65'd Durrr by turning his trips into a bluff, bluffing him off his representing TT
Heh - anyway, another great episode, looking forward to part 2.
Also, I've been happy to learn lately that there are so many solid poker players in the NH/MA area. Didn't realize Baluga was attending Dartmouth - very cool.

Excellent discussion, but i felt that you repeated yourself a little and so the one hand of High Stakes Poker ended up taking what 50 minutes of air time? I think, however interesting the hand may be, that was too much

To answer dj_mercury's question I'm fairly certain that there is no analysis of this hand anywhere because Rho never showed what he mucked. I've put in an email to my director asking him if I can reveal Rho's hand before the broadcast. Hopefully we can start a discussion and I'll xpost over in HS MTT on 2+2.

I've never been good with figuring out combos so fix my math here if I'm incorrect. There are 9 combos of T7 and 6 combos of sets of 7s or ts. Because the board was rainbow there are only two combos of T7 suited. I think that there is a strong chance that he would take a line like this with top two. Is the raise spewy? I think the answer to that depends on if he plays T7os. If yes, T7 definitely can make up a significant portion of his range. If no, he is 3 times more likely to show up with a set in this spot.
The Aussie Millions hand I talked about is here:

Thanks for the answer, guess we will have to wait for the Main Event TV broadcast if you won't be allowed to reveal the hand Rho mucked. Btw in the DC high stakes NL forum there is a lengthy thread about the HSP hand you dissected in this episode with Andrew-Baluga.
