Hey everyone,
I'm looking for people who are interested in deepening their understanding of the math aspects of No Limit Holdem. Specifically I want to focus on learning to do effective EV calcs and getting a much better understanding of the math behind those. Thus I'm looking for people who are interested in the same topic.
I will have a lot of free time on my hands from August - October. So this is the time frame I'm setting for myself for now fwiw.
What do I want to do specifically? Gather an active of group of 4 - max. 5 active people to
- Discuss videos, articles, books and what not.
- Share Analysis / Calcs with each other and discuss those.
I don't really know from which angle to approach the whole topic just yet. I'm thinking of starting out by watching Math videos on Deucescrakced and just getting my feet wet. I do have a solid understanding of the basic math, but it's never bad to brush up on the basics.
Even though the common opinion seems to be that doing ev calcs by hand is a waste of time, I do want to start out this way to really get a good understanding of what's going on and sharpen my mathematical intuition. This is prolly the key point: Understanding how changes in assumptions, as in ranges, pot odds, implieds etc., have an impact on the EV of a play and develop an intuition that can be put to use at the tables.
As you might notice all of this is still pretty vague, but I want to get this out here and see if anyone is interested.
If you are: contact me via pm or Skype: "meatballetc".
