What does the "group" do together? And why utilize skype? If you play on different sites, what then?

so what exactly are "sweat" sessions? Is this when you get a group of players and all watch 1 player play his session and everyone gives feedback?

Yes, would like to know more about "sweat groups", what are they? Difficulty would be time zone for me, I guess,as I'm from South East Asia. Also, altho I have Skype, haven't actually used it Anyway, do give some more info, like why not use this forum instead?
