The whole line is spew.
The hand is too weak (if your intention was to steal the blinds OK)
The pre flop limp-call is terrible, the flop flat looks weak and sticking the rest of of your chips in on the 7
(which must be the worst card for you as 89xx has now got there) is burning money.
Why not raise pre? If you get 3-bet, it's an easy fold. Then if you do see a flop then raise-jam when you still have two cards to come to make your flush.

I'm just learning plo so I am still making basic mistakes. I am much better in the stud/limit games.
Preflop was pretty bad and I like your line of a a steal raise and fold to the 3 bet. I limp with alot with so so cards and a nut draw. This may not be a proper way to play 6 max plo.
As played on the flop I thought long and hard before calling. I did not know what the best line was. My best reason for calling was to keep the button in the hand as I was drawing to the nuts. I didn't think my 2 pair was strong enough to isolate the sb. This may also be poor reasoning in plo.
The turn I figured the odds were close enough to draw even if 89 got there.
Thoughts on this line of reasoning.

Stick it in on the flop and be happy
By raising the flop you give yourself correct odds to call the turn no matter what card comes. Your hand can win unimproved and even if you're against a set, you have your nut flush draw.
Gotta raise to make sure all the people with weaker flush draw/straight draw combos pay as much as possible to chase.
