I just want to add a footnote in the comments:

I made these videos a few months ago. From everything I can tell, the games have changed quite a bit. While all of the concepts in my series still apply (reraising aces and non aces, c-betting, etc), I have noticed a couple things. One is that people do NOT give you credit for aces necessarily when you 3bet and seem much more willing to play back in 3-bet pots. Similarly, you can tell who the people who never 3-bet with aces are, and 4-bet them liberally (when I say liberally, I mean with very good non-aces hands, of course).

The second thing is with respect to c-betting. Once again, people seem willing to call down lighter and peel lighter. This should probably mean we're 1)c-betting less frequently, 2) stacking off a little lighter, especially after not c-betting, and in general just tightening up.

I think the current environment of the mid stakes games is even more profitable than it was before. I see insanely bad stack offs at least 20 times every time I open up tables for 10 minutes. So tighten up a little bit (while still remaining aggressive), and the money will start rolling in.

I have yet to make the final two episodes of this series (actually the final three, though week 6 will be based on hands I have played before). The final 2 weeks involve live play, and I will try to focus a little more on the games as they are currently played. Once again, this doesn't mean that anything in my series is wrong or not useful; just trying to give a heads-up for things you might see and what to start thinking about.

Is 2x6 a pre-req for this? or could one just jump into this series?

i'd just watch this 1 since vid 1 of each is the same and the concepts here are laid out a little more smoothly

I think you could just jump in, but there is definitely content you'll find in both series so as long as you have time, they're both pretty excellent IMO. Smile

this is my second day at dc and your comment about playing your opponents range first. makes so much sense, dc is much better than cr the videos they are so much more about concepts then watching them play
good job

u say the bet with aaxx is good if its works half the time. But u have to compare the ev of the bet to the ev of a check. Maybe ev of check isnt very high because u cant really stand action but it will get checked down decent prct. and u will win the pot so there is def some ev in a check. U should compare the ev of the check and the bet and then decide what the best play is. Dont say the bet is +ev so bet.
