been playing some PLO of late, and it's been going well.
tonight however, i ran into a person that has proved to be extremely difficult to play.
i have 106 hands on him, and he's played 104 of them. he calls all 3bets, and even 4bets PF with complete rags. problem is, he's running spectacularly hot. i 4bet him PF with AAKT, with double suited AAxx, and he called with 7694, 3 clubs, and flopped 774...
other than walking away, how does one combat that sort of player? cause he's really frustrating.

4bet for solid value with hands that flop good very often and don't be afraid to get the money in when you can get it in good. Don't just wait for AA though to 3bet this guy, hands like AKQJ and similar go up in value a ton vs a guy like this. All the hands with a siginificant equity/playability edge make for great 3bets if he is playing 100vpip then calling all 3bets.
If he 4bets with rags then an easy play is to start pushing 60/40 edges pre bet 3bet/5bet with good hot cold equity hands but I kinda suspect this isn't the best option more just an easy option.
Another option is to start flatting wider in position and just go from there. Push as much positional advantage as you can.
Playing someone like this is just going to be a high variance situation so try not to get tilted if you lose a bunch of buyins by getting it in.

Just remember those rundown type hands that flop wraps don't actually push an equity edge vs this guy preflop:
ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation
600,000 trials (Randomized)
95% 49.74% (293,295 wins, 10,318 ties)
9876:yyxx 50.26% (296,387 wins, 10,318 ties)
ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation
600,000 trials (Randomized)
95% 53.53% (316,638 wins, 9,027 ties)
7654:yyxx 46.47% (274,335 wins, 9,027 ties)
however, you can push massive postflop edges with these hands. These sort of hands play better by keeping the pot smaller preflop then just going crazy when you hit.

Playing with these guys is definitely high variance, but they are beatable. You just have to be patient. Like shuttle said push equity edges hard. Also, remember PLO is a POST-flop equity game. The flop can switch 65/35 edges pre to 70/30 against. If you can sit on his left and play more hands that have higher implied odds such as hands like 88-JJ where your middle/low sets have greater value against him. Also, try to play more suited ace hands where you can potentially have his draws crushed.

IF you are playing low stakes quit him
This guy creates huge rake which you wont beat. Id say anything less that 200PLO is not worth playing him.
I was thinking that when I recently checked my database for some of these aggro (usually Greek or Russian) 95+ VPIP guys. I was shocked to see their rake figures. Whereas I am paying like 15bb / 100 'true' rake (i.e. winner takes all) which is bad enough they are running at like 50bb/100. Insane!
