Prob like this better. His line looks like a wrap or maybe overplayed AA or the like though his BTN range could contain pretty much any 4. I don't know how enamoured I am with getting it in 13:1 SPR on the flop though but with such a dry board It's probably OK.

Hand is good enough to play for stacks in this position. Generally you would like to c/r bluff some air/weak draws on this board so c/r is usually the better option balance-wise. Leading can't be wrong for sure tho.

with c/r we can get more value if he has nothing. Since he is likely to cbet such a dry board most of the time. This way we can add his cbet to our profit while we are losing his cbet when we donk.

good question what to do if he re-pots against our c/r. I see myself running into a lot of sets (obv. because those are the hands I remember Grin ) and wraps

If I were going to c/r here I'd probably c/r smallish rather than potting because the board is fairly dry and this isn't a bad c/r bluff spot either. Being able to c/r and fold to a shove on this type of board texture seems reasonable unless you know him to be the type to shove in with TP+overs or AAxx/KKxx.

some good post flop discussion here but just wondered is anyone else 3betting this pre flop?

As a default no. With reads on the other players, maybe. In general I don't think you gain much EV by 3betting this hand here. Make it a little more connected or a little higher carded and I could get behind that. For example I wouldn't hate 3betting a T876ds here, or an A876ds.

In general though I'd lean away from 3betting this spot because the BB has a pretty short stack and can shove in on us with a lot of AKxx type hands for pure equity if he has some sort of idea what is going on. He probably doesn't, but no reads were specified.

cheers del, if we were the button in this spot facing the CO open, are we still not 3betting as per the reasons given regarding BB stack?

great discussion! would like to know this as well. The more discussions I follow and videos I watch I realise, that I am 3betting not enough hands (as I would not 3bet this hand because of the gap at the top)

cheers del, if we were the button in this spot facing the CO open, are we still not 3betting as per the reasons given regarding BB stack?
