As mentioned on my blog, I'm going to be playing 20,000 hands of PLO by the end of the month. I'm about 4,000 hands in. I'm going to try and post a few hands every couple days so I can be sure I am improving my game. I'm pretty confident we can turn the PLO forum here into the best one on the internet.

Here's my first interesting hand...The button is a solid TAG and the other caller is 30/10 on the passive side. My plan was to bet-call. Is our hand strong enough given how much money was put in preflop and that the pot is 3-ways to bet-call? Also, what about crai? What sorts of hands will a TAGish button bet if I check this?

bc is the only reasonable play. don't like cr on flop. tag on button is betting any 2 pair, set, any pair with a straight draw, most 9's, and probably even overpairs like k's if he is checked to.

I think many players will put you on aces in this spot and put their money in pretty light. Furthermore the very strong hands like sets wont be seen too often since you block a nine and the other board cards are very low. Thus I think your hand is strong enough to play bet/call as long as not both opponents show interest.

betcall is the standard here because your hand is good enough (well, 'good' might not be the best word for it, but with TP and live kickers and a big pot already you are committed to get it in) but you also want to maximize FE. Shipping it here will often get people off of hands like JJ or QQ but they'll get it in with draw-type hands.
