Hi guys, i'd never played against villain before this session since he's a reg of higher stackes(400+) so i suppose he's at least a not bad player almost certainly better than me. I normally play lower stakes mixing up 50 and 100. i sometimes take a shot at 200 when i see that are seated the same big fish that i play against at my stackes. Anyway going back to the hand i had only 34 hands against villain and he was playing 38/18/1,6. went for a ck/r because i was quite sure that i was going to cbet that flop (giving that he cbetted three out of four times) but when he repot i put him on some big wrap than my plan was to call and push any river card that was 7 or lower. what do you think about the whole hand??from the preflop..is it playable hand OOP against a button open?what about the ck/R at the flop? should i have folded to his 3bet??

When he 4-bets us here over 200 BB deep then he will have usually sets, sometimes monster pair+wraps and our hand at absolute worst. If I have a naked two pair hand like this and stacks are such that I don't want to get 4-bet then I like to check-call. It's good for your game too as it keeps some strong hands in your check-calling range.

As played, it's either fold or ship on the flop. I hate calling because if you think he has enough draws in his range you should just go for full value now. Raise-folding top 2 is pretty rare but once you get 3-bet against a competent player with that much money left behind, especially a reg, I think you're toast. But I wouldn't have check-raised here to begin with.

Yeah agree with Teahupoo. Don't check raise without a plan, the worst thing you can do in PLO is put a lot of your stack in with a strong hand and have to fold large amounts of equity.

You need a really good read to c/r/fold but it's not horrible. I generally prefer to c/c though and keep the pot smaller.
