I thought that according to SN #s I can do this? or should I just call when he 3bets me to a standard size with 0% 3 bet over 27 hands?
it seems though maybe only an aggressive, thinking player would use SN#s and shove TT/AK or worse

SB: $8.40
Hero (BB): $8.19
: $24.02

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with J Club J Diamond
2 folds, SB calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.30, SB raises to $0.90, Hero raises to $2.70, SB calls $1.80

Flop: ($5.40) 5 Diamond 6 Diamond 2 Diamond (1 players)
SB bets $2.70, Hero raises to $5.49, SB calls $2.79

there was a terrible internet disconnect on merge and this hand came up....
vs a range of AK, 99+, which may be too wide I have 58% equity on this flop

I was finally rebuilding my roll and then I hit this hand

this is full ring table witch is short? and that 27 hands is 3 way? if he is normal full ring player they dont adjust short tables too well. so what are his general stats?

but anyhow would not mind shipping at this flop in 3 handed game

there was some internet disconnect and the full ring table turned 3 handed. the 27 hands is full ring 9 handed I think

but with this 4 bet at NL10 isn't this only JJ+? I messed up by 4 betting here right? I should just have flatted the 3bet? then if I shipped the flop I'd have some fold equity vs JJ+?
played this way the villain feels pot committed with only a pot bet left and I can't fold either
the games on merge seem quite terrible, maybe only 1 fish at the table these days
is cake much better or another site?

is poker going to dry up in a year and it's going to be impossible to make a living at it?

Nobody can really answer this. But if you focus on making money you will not really get too much out of it anyway. If you try to make correct decisions and cope with your emotions you will be a better person overall and you will gain from your experience with poker even if it ends next year for some reason. On the other hand, if you keep counting those nickels and dimes you might earn a little, but as somebody said before: "begging earns better hourly".

Anyway why would you worry about poker drying out if there is the end of the world by the end of this year? Wink

About the hand:

As played - ship it.
Preflop - if you are not sure if you can 4b JJ for value than just call and play postflop. Limp/reraise is usually a fish trying to tell you he has AA.

really 4bet ship it preflop? I also felt he had KK-AA probably maybe QQ and he is 27/10 with 0% 3 bet over 57 hands
I should have waited to think about it, but maybe the SN's are not applicable since they are shoving from the SB vs a random hand and this is a tighter range

I said "as played" - so I meant on the flop after he donks into you, I would just ship it as you did.
Those stats just confirm that he might be the loose-passive player, aka "fish", who likes to "trap" with big hands by limp/reraising, even in late position or SB.

And to make money in today's games you need to learn to get some of it from regulars too.

yeah vs this range I am still worse than 50% equity and maybe he doesn't do this with AK

sometimes you will see people limp AJo+ in late position to level people with Ax hands, but I don't know if this profitable over a large sample or not

against a limp/raise I definitely just call preflop.
we have position, he might have a really strong range for limp/raising (AA is still a huge part in most fishs limp/raising range), it's really unlikely that he limp/raises smaller PPs than JJ or hands like AJ from my experience.
you're going to hang yourself vs his nuts way too often.

and games are awesome at the moment imo.
even on way higher stakes you can find enough fish.
but you still have to put the work in and improve your game.
do you have a premium acc or do you just post in the forums, pokerlover?
