Villain is a 13/7

I never quite know what to do in these situations, as I fear villain will call my cbet wide, or hit a pair on later streets, or call 3 barrels with some mediocre hand, or bet the turn against my missed cbet, or whatever. With more information I can figure out what to do, but I feel as if I'm left in the dark in these situations.

I'm thinking, against this particular opponent, a small cbet of like $.60 would have worked well, since I don't have to fear him x/r me as a bluff due to him looking passive. If he fits or folds, sweet, if he calls super wide, value betted my A high, nice.

I he was more a 16/14, I think I could have better 3 barrels, expected him to be able to fold 99.

If he was more of a 22/18, I think as played would have been best.

I think question is more about how often he calls or raises cbet than how he plays pf. What hands he limps with? you must have some history against him? 14/7 can play many different ways you really don't give enough info about his style to recommend but would not mind cbetting flop. Well not ideal flop to cbet but...

I wasn't paying much attention to him, and it was over a limited sample. I suspect him to have many small PP here, and some suited broadways and biggish offsuit broadways.

I wouldn't try to make him fold any pair. And on this turn he is not folding any ace. But you can still bet flop or turn to collect dead money and deny him realizing his equity in the pot.

Given you have gutter+BDFD+over, there are many cards to keep pressure on the turn.

I think that when you have some equity + position, you should bet flop with the intention of barreling a lot of turns. You should get enough fold double barreling and there are times where you will pick up an A, an straight or a flush and even get paid.

Sadly, in this specific hand, turn is probably the worse possible hand to barrel.

against a "standard fish" I'd bet the flop for sure.
given that he is a 13/7 we probably look at a range of PPs and not much else.
so just checking it down and hoping to hit is probably the best plan.
