I have managed a small win rate at the live 1/2 NLHE game where I am learning to play. Mostly just by playing far tighter and putting in larger raises than the other players (not huge, but 5x instead of 3x or 4x) and still getting called by the same passive loosers (little joke there)
I have just encountered a problem I have not had before.
I have a young aggro guy who will call my raises OOP in the blinds, and donk for 2/3 to 1/2 pot.
He is randomly spazzy as well as able to hand read and figure board textures.
An example of spazziness is his $136 shove all in into a $27 pot with 99 on a 653 two tone board. He is also capable of overbetting top set on a dry board as well.
It has happened 4-5 times now where I am a MP ISO raiser, or Opener for $10 or so. Typically it has been just one limp caller, myself and this guy. Flop comes small, two tone, drawy etc, but no broadway, and he will donk for 2/3 pot.
Today, I was in a straddle pot, with a calling station limping I raised it to $20 with A
Q
in the HJ. It gets folded to Aggro who flats his Straddle, calling station calls, and
pot is $60. 3players
Flop 9

he donks $40 , calling station folds, and I take my time and fold, figuring no back door draws at all, and he donked into 2 opps this time, so gets more credit from me.
any ideas on how to adjust vs this villain in future?
