Playing £1-£2 and I'm dealt AClub7Club, MP, stack £451 exactly. Have won a lot of pots in the last couple of orbits, almost doubled my stack, and have told everyone that I'm leaving on my BB.

There's a straddle and I limp.

LP, a TAG who's lost a few pots, makes it £21, with £80 behind. My plan, if it folds to me, is to fold. No arguments there?

SB, a bad TAG player, calls with £500 behind.

The straddler, a decent LAG player, calls. Also £500 behind.

And it's on me. With so much in the pot, and the fact that this hand plays well deep-stacked, is this an easy call? Or marginal, considering the PFR has only half a stack?

I call.

So £80 in the pot
Flop comes out 2Club 9Club 3Club

Bingo. So when we see the flop, before anything happens, what's our plan here? A) If one of the early players bets? B) If they both check?

SB counts out £40 and slides it over the line.

Now what's our plan if (a) straddler folds? (b) straddler calls?

What actually happens is straddler counts out and raises to £140.

Call/raise/shove? We have £430 total at this point.

A) If both player check in front suggest half pot bet trying to at least get some money in before a scare card comes.

C) As calling the 140 will look pretty scarey to the Straddler anyway raise to 240 and hold on with the scared nuts and look for no clubs or board paring on the turn.

Strange how you start to think and get greedy. Which I did. But, when I counted the bad cards for you I got tired of counting -- 18 or so?

I would raise to 280 rather than the min/raise just because a click back seems 'extra' strong. But I do think you should raise. The initial urge of mine to have the initial SB bettor to come along just wont happen enough to compensate for hand and/or action killer turn cards.

Raise, and figure the straddler may on a good day have a small flush.

If both players check, I bet 2/3 pot plus a little. I want to seem like I am scared of the turn club, not like I am sucking them in.

I believe it is Bart H who says to fast play nut flushes on flushed flops to start getting the cash in. You will not get much action unless someone has something, so if they do, might as well start NOW. Smile

Ok...
I shoved.
SB folded (he was folding to the raise so I was never keeping him in).

The straddler was a decent, thinking player. If I flat I think it looks uber-strong too. He knows I'm shoving if I have a set, a flush, and also knows I'm capable of doing so with something like AClub 9Diamond.

It folded to the straddler who dwell-called. Brick brick and I take it. Really really wanted to see what he called me with, but oh well. Frown

But was an interesting hand, because at first I'm thinking if it checks to me, I check and see if PFR shoves. Maybe someone calls and I can shove over the top.

Then when SB bets out, I'm thinking of flat calling and dragging more players along.

When straddler raises, I forget about PFR getting involved (unless he has Kings with KClub maybe) and just put my money in the middle. Just wondered if anyone had any different thoughts on it.
