I think my turn decision in this hand is where I question my decision. Not because I shouldn't get it in, but what's the most effective way to get all the money in the pot against the villians range. I chose to raise/jam OTT and I think he's probably calling w/ AK there, but maybe it would be better to raise smaller OTT and get it in OTR or just call the turn and hope he bets again to then shove the river.

Im confused. What range do you put villian on? AA,KK,AK? Do you think he raises that large pre with AKs and AKoff or do you discount some AK offsuit hands? I think we should be questioning getting it in here. Im never folding but we really have to look at our hand strength vs our opponents range here and if its AA,KK and AKs were crushed he has 70% equity with that range.

Id really like to see a coaches opinion on this hand.

I didn't weight the AK differently based on suitedness. I think he's probably playing AKs and AKo the same way preflop w/ the big raise preflop. I could be wrong here, but this is my best guess. Against a range of AA,KK and all AK combos, 99 has 55% equity OTT. You are right that against a range of AA, KK and AKs, 99 only has about 30% equity.

What was villains starting stack?

We were both about $300 to start the hand. He had just a little more than me, maybe $320.

This is a pretty gross spot but I think I like calling turn, then evaluating calling or jamming on the river depending on river card how he reacts if we pick up any more information ect. Im deff never folding but idk how much I like getting it in either.

This is a no brainer raise on the flop and try to stack. He could have AK and KQ. You do not have bottom set here too. Assuming he has KK here is too results orientated. Letting him see the turn is a mistake imo because if you shove here and he only has something like KQ he might fold. Now that you and him have seen the turn its a must to raise just in case he has a combo draw. Raising big on the turn is a must.

OTT: I actually got a little bit of a live read that he liked the Ace.
MP raises to 21$. Looks like a pretty good raise for QQ+ not wanting to take a bad beat. He could be raising a little bit larger with QQ KK because he wants to just drive everyone out who has an ace. Or is just raising for value with AA. So he either likes the ace because it has nutted him up or he thinks it helped your range. AKs AKo, KK+AA would be his range based on the action and your live read. So I call and hope he has AK 16 combos...and not KK+AA 12 combos. Would like to know more about this table game flow and pre flop bet sizes. Live players tend to copy each others bet sizes pre flop. So if 21$ has been the norm for QQ+ range then I would possibly fold. Sometimes its 12$ 15$ 20$.. One other thought is sometimes players will automatically raise 3x bb or 3x pot with AK. I don't think you should be putting someone on a premium range and the trying to set mine calling 7x bet I could be wrong here tho.

+1
I thought calling pre was pretty close to. This hand really depends on table dynamics and game flow. Also if villian flexes his raise size preflop due to hand strength. If he does I dont understand how anyone is saying raise turn to get it in. I think raise flop is fine but once we see the turn A I think its an obvious call/call spot.
