On reflection my river bet sizing is really out of whack. Can I fold? I'm struggling with range assignment here. I think I look strong (apart from my bad river bet which should have been 8 or so) so he's not going to raise 2pair here imo. Which leaves sets, very unlikely straights and runner runner flushes with KJ or JT
. This is a pretty narrow value range tbh. My main problem though is I've now leveled myself with my small bet size - did it induce, did it entice him to value raise 2pair? I've had plenty of people flat things like AA when utg+1 so although discounted they're in his range for sure. It's not just 77 & JJ.
Anyway, this hand kind of tilted me a bit so I've closed down my tables for tonight (after only spazzing away a single BI to a nit). Quitting ftw.

I'd bet bigger ott also because this is nitring and he probably has a strong range to call the flop to begin with, assuming he folds all the setmines, so Jx / QQ calls probably any size under pot on the turn, AJ anyway while TT and lower folds at least on the turn always and it also sets up around a potsize river shove if my shitty head-math is accurate (no, it's never accurate, let's call it "about not so much wrong") and otr it's kind of the same think I guess because now probably all the Jx folds while AJ and AQ call always so bet big.
I agree that he probably never raises 2pair which leaves probably only QQ, slowplayed JJ and KdJd as his valuerange but since he doesnt really have much that would get turned into a bluff here (dont think he would bluffraise 2pair and dont think he has many onepair or even air - hands left at all (discounted the times where onepairs dont get bluffraised at all (most of the time imo )).
So I think he just folds or calls all the Jx and ships the nutted range.
And btw, even if this was a good villain, look at your perceived range, you are repping so polarized here (assuming you do bluff sometimes which might be necessary against a good reg here (but probably not that much since both your ranges are so tight to begin with), do you reall think he would be trying to get you off AJ (probably this could bet this size otr to get some thinner value) and better?
but obviously take this advice with some grain of fullring-fish-salt because I never really played it except for some 2NL on party to get some no deposit bonus

I think you;'re right, I should bet a bit bigger on the turn. Say $4.50 I can then shove the river for pot
Is 77 enough of his range to warrant a call? We started a bit deep. Time for the maths I think.

First to answer your question I don't think your small river bet has induced a bluff shove from him.
As played I don't mind a smaller bet on the river. It keeps his range wider to call and cost less when we bet/ fold.
I'd be trying to get stacks in after the flop so betting bigger on flop, $2.10 then bigger on the turn, $6.10 I believe that would leave a pot size shove on most rivers but on this river either a small blocking bet or check/ fold.
Villian is never bluffing in this spot so must be value shoving and all we beat are Aj & 77 and I'm not sure he shoves AJ.
