Opening/calling ranges vary with stakes and table dynamics. At NL50 folding these is probably more optimal, however I can't accurately diagnose this as I have 0 experience in 100nl and < full ring play
. I assume you'd have to be much nittier than how I would play 1/2+.
Right enough, you mentioned in your video you haven't played at that level.
thanks for the reply

If my won$ when saw flop is at 45%, is that possibly a problem with my game? I have similar stats to you(18/14) but I dont think Im calling raises quite as light as you if that helps to answer my question.
Also just want to say great video. I just signed up here and found this video very helpful. Im gonna try out some of the different bet sizes you suggest against non-regs and see how it works.

Yep, a problem if you don't like making more money. Please continue directly to the advanced class. Thank you.
;-)
At some point it has to become a problem. For example, if you c-bet every time and bet whenever checked to thats not going to be optimal but its going to increase your W$WSF. Im just wondering what most people think would be an optimal W$WSF.
Also Im surprised that Nolan finds it weird that Studboy was limping in. When I play against him he seems to love open limping. I do agree that he adapts his play very well though.

J9s probably is a slightly more EV+ hand given that it's less likely I'm dominated preflop, however I still think it's never a leak to call with any hand that can formulate the nut flush when you are in position to a competent UTG raiser. He will give my flop raises more respect in general, so it's easy to get a feel for if he has a monster or a whiffed pp/ak. Also you can extract massive value when you do hit a gin flop.
I didn't neccesarily play the hand "scared" although it seems so, rather I feel I was realistically playing for maximum value. On that board texture there is a limited range of hands which I can value bet against that don't have me beat on a paired board given the high cards on the board.
There is certainly merit to an argument against how I played it, although I'm confident in my assessment of the opponent/situation.
Just my 2c, I appreciate your input though.
This hand had me a little confused as well. Its not that I question your play, its just that I have questions ABOUT your play, as I am sure I couldn't play this profitably. Are you basically just looking for boards to bluff b/c they look like they hit your range? If so, do you feel it is necessary to be aggressive as well if you hit for instance an A high board?
Great vids nolan, I'm really enjoying them

Great vid! haven't seen too many but best I have so far.
Just one question on specific hand. A2o u 3bet stealer with. You commented that this was for image and I have had many debates about how impoartant this actually is given all the multi-tabling. Do you consider the fact you are on tables with regs or nonregs at all? And how important do you think image is in FR? Do you think it varies from level to level?

I think it varies from level to leve, with importance rising as you move up of course.
When mega-tabling image can even be MORE important as you can be on 15 tables with the same person, and therefore he will be able to gather info about your perceived play at a faster rate.
I don't think staying on the tighter side is a bad thing, I just wanted to highlight some spots I put myself in with some frequency and explain why.

I am looking to bluff boards, particularly those that are like 457 with a flush draw etc.
I won't play an A high flop too fast, you'll get yourself valuetowned a lot doing this against most people.

Awesome video!
im really glad to see a lagish type player at FR. I play pretty loose myself (18/15) and I couldnt see myself playing less hands... I really liked how you did your video also, the 6tables was nice, and you only sat at the tables for 30 minutes.. which I think is good, I think vids over 45minutes is just way too long.
I really hope you make some more vids, maybe some 100nl-200nl vids
