I am sorry but when you say that vilain knows what we have when we call, i think you are bit off.

Hero would call down all day with sets, 107,108, 98 not only with overpairs.

Dont you agree?

Well he knows we have Tx+ most of the time. I'd estimate 70% of our range is Tx and overpairs. I think that's probably a conservative estimate if we're always flatting Tx, overpairs, and sets. So, he's 100% right 70% of the time. Smile Not a very good spot for us to be. He pretty much knows what we hold unless we happened to flop a set. And no one actually flops sets. Smile

Why not shoving the turn instead? We would make more money against his bluffs and semibluffs, dont you think?

I don't think he'll have enough air in his range. I assume he's not auto-2-barreling 100% of his bluff range on the turn. I ran the math on shoving the turn vs his estimated range and it was -EV. Calling turn is better than shoving.

So if they dont have enough air on the turn, we should fold the turn right?

Sure, but probably unlikely if we're calling the flop. I'm pretty sure the turn ends up being so thin that it goes to show that folding to turn wouldn't be a huge mistake. I think of that intuitively as why we may want to try something different on the flop. If we have an overpair to the board, and are getting raised a lot, yet don't turn a lot of profit on the turn, then that doesn't seem like the best situation for us. I think we let him realize his equity too much by flatting, while also letting him be balanced by just playing naturally.

I'm a bit confused here.
If the best play is 3betting the flop, what would you do on the turn if villain just flats your 3bet?
And would u fold to villain's 4bet shove on the flop?

No, I wouldn't fold to a shove. I would go ahead and v-bet the turn. The times that he flats we have to start putting his range on made hands a lot more (unless villain is sophisticated enough to float, which I'd doubt) so this skews his range more towards Tx. Bigger hands and bluffs would 4-bet shove the flop.
