Hey

I got some questions about episode 1 to 4:

My first question is about having small pairs with overcards on the board, and the villian donkbets into you.
In the beginning Nolan says he is going to give villian credit and fold his 8s, in the end of the vid he gets 4s against almost the same board, and a tight villian donkbets, now Nolan raises.
Whats the biggest difference?
Villian 1 was a 30/12, and villian 2 was an 11/ something.

Another question is about Moving on up Pt4, where Nolan is reviewing hands being posted here.

its again 88 and the board is 2Spade4Club5Club

The hero bets 5 into a 9.50$ and Nolan suggest to make it atleast 8$ to make the decision more easy and won't allow villian to semi- bluf you profitable

I totally understand this, but what about pot control?
If you bet near pot with hands like this, doesn't that make the turn bet huge?
And with a huge turn pot, isn't it harder to bet the turn again? Because it will become much more of a commiting bet then??

just some questions

If you near pot it oop and are called, you have to make a read on what range your opponent can have and either bet an amount that commits you on the turn or give up and check fold.

Most villains are going to be raising sets or pocket pairs higher than 8's on boards like that (as well as overs + fd etc) so generally if someone just flats in position on a 245 board I'd assume my 8's are good.

I can't answer your first question without more information about the board texture and opponents.
