villain was playing 13/8/1.4 on about 250 hands.

I play a 13/10/3 style atm.

viewing his stats i think it might have been better to check call the turn hoping to catch up a bigger flush if he has one...

CO: $50.00
BTN: $52.40
SB: $9.60
BB: $28.15
UTG: $55.95
UTG+1: $13.60
UTG+2: $80.15
MP1: $10.00
Hero (MP2): $54.15

CO posts a big blind ($0.50)

Pre Flop: ($1.25) Hero is MP2 with A Diamond A Club
4 folds, Hero raises to $2.50, 1 fold, BTN calls $2.50, 2 folds

Flop: ($6.25) 9 Spade 2 Diamond 4 Diamond (2 players)
Hero bets $4, BTN calls $4

Turn: ($14.25) T Diamond (2 players)
Hero bets $8, BTN raises to $26.50, Hero folds

Is that a 5x BB prefop raise? Is that your standard raise size?

I would bet more on the flop, 5$ or 5,5$. The same on the turn, bet more for value, 10$ or 11$ and obviously call a shove. HJe doesn't have to have a flush here, he can have a T, a high FD with a pair, a str8 draw with a high FD, JJ, QQ, KK whatever.

I really don't think that he has a flush here. I was looking at what kind of range this guy can have and there is not much. I think that it pretty much boils down to a set or an over pair, hence I really didn't like the fold on the turn.

I think this is one of those spots where if you got coolered, then oh well. I mean he could have JJ-KK with a diamond and be pushing here. Any straight draw or pair plus flush draw should raise you here. You have AA and a redraw to the nuts, so personally i wouldn't fold here. I'd be more worried about a set than a flush.

Players with those stats are constantly afraid of monsters in my experience, so wouldn't he raise a set on the flop? Al least some % of the tiem he would I think which make it even more a call imo.

^^^You're probably right. After looking at the hand again, I don't like the turn bet. When you bet barely over 1/2 pot and get raised, are you being raised by a big hand, or raising because your bet looks weak? If bet/folding is the line you're going to take, then you should bet more to reduce the likelihood you'll get bluffed. I don't like check/calling either. If the 4th diamond falls, it will be hard to get paid off, and if the river is a blank, you're stuck in a spot wondering if your hand is good or not.

I'm basically jamming it in here mostly. I mean we beat JJ-KK.

Your bet looks like a block bet. It's like a 'have you got the flush?' type bet.

I think played this way we're banging it in.

If you are really worried, then check/fold the turn and be a low-variance pussy.

If you are really worried, then check/fold the turn and be a nitty rakeback pro (at best).

Don't get weak tight. It's the opposite of tilt and it costs you similar money.
