Villain was 38/25/2 after only 8 hands. I know I probably should have just flatted PF but that small bet size is usually indicative of either weakness or strength from donks(he wound up at 33/11/2) so I made what is prob a bad 3bet either way. On the river I fell like all I have is a bluff catcher and think I'm smoked. Thoughts on all streets please.

I like the preflop 3 bet, especially button vs. blinds. On the turn bet for value, he often thinks your just barreling the A and calls with JJ, TT ans any K and any weaker A. Don't go into check-call mode and let him decide the size of the pot, especially because you are deep.

As played it gets just a guessing game (as always in check-call mode): is he value betting worse etc.? His bets are really weak so I call him down as he's betting any A here or even bluffing if he's an aggressive fish.

I think I should have definitely barreled the turn. I guess I was checking to induce, but then I shouldn't be folding the river.

If you play it this way, call the river.

PF is good, Flop is good, Turn i would either bet, or definitely raise his weak bet. Curious as to why you folded. Basically he has to have AK for you to be beat, unless he bets small with monsters. I'm definitely looking up an unknown here

preflop is fine, i really don't mind this 3 bet. flop is also good.Turn i think that you have to bet here, but as played I don't get why you folded the river. On the turn you must of thought you were good with your ace for you to c/c his bet, so you should of looked him up on the river cause i just don't see how the 6c helped him on the river.

yeah its all said but anyway just wanted to mention look at the pot odds at the river!! you can´t fold this given the check call mode made villain believe you are somewhat weak.

I guess it was just one of those situations that I went with my "gut" instead of logic. I just felt that it could have been AK or even AA or KK. Obviously my intuition was waaaaaay off when I folded and he flipped 10c7c. LOL. No big deal.

As far as the 3bet PF though...Nobody thinks that flatting may be better? I'm thinking that against a donkey OOP why bloat the pot when it wouldn't be hard to extract if I hit hard. In position knowing now that hes opening and calling 3bets w 10c7c and the like I'll be 3betting him all day. But is it neccessary to be doing it OOP? Correct me if I'm looking at it the wrong way.

I like 3betting PF because you are miles ahead of this guys range, so you want to get as much money in as you can. With a 2.5x PF raise, it will be hard to play for stacks if you hit the flop, and if i hit any part of the flop i want to play for stacks against this donkey. Given this guys wide range, there is no harm in check/folding if you totally miss.

He has just a monster range there, AQ too strong to fold. Also you take the lead and don't have to fold to his bets (this guy is gonna bet!). Also him raising 2.5 on the button tells me he might at least think a bit about what he does (might be a 6max player?) so his range is even wider.
