NL 100 FR AKo , KQ
Hi,
this is my first post here so I guess I should introduce myself first. I have been playing online poker for a little over a year now, first i played only occasionally climbing the micros not really knowing how to play best at all. At NL25 i started to study the game more, read a few books and articles and participated in a few non professional forums. This is my first sign up on a real poker coaching site:-)
I actually play NL100 FR as a "regular" but would still consider my game as ABC poker and i now want to get a deeper insight of the game. I also strongly consier changing to SH but want to build my bankroll a little more.
P.S. I apologiize for my "school English" but I am not a native speaker;-)

villian is playing 14.3/11.6/4.2 on 700 hands and we have no 3bet history as far as I remember. should I have just flatcalled it and see if i pick an ace or king. But then i guess i dont get any money in unless he has KK or AA and has me beat. what to think of the BB coldcall ( he played 23/9/1 on only 50 hands so far)
MP2: $98.50
CO: $98.50
BTN: $24.60
SB: $99.50
BB: $98.50
UTG: $18.00
UTG+1: $383.50
Hero (MP1): $99.50
Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is MP1 with A
K
2 folds, Hero raises to $4, MP2 raises to $14, 3 folds, BB calls $13, Hero raises to $99.50 all in, MP2 calls $84.50 all in, 1 fold
Flop: ($211.50) 6
2
3
(2 players - 2 are all in)
Turn: ($211.50) 5
(2 players - 2 are all in)
River: ($211.50) 8
(2 players - 2 are all in)
Final Pot: $211.50
this isn't worth much but I'd like to take a guess:
mp2: AA OR KK
BB: pocket 10's or jacks
I don't really like the all in, my feeling I would of probably just folded right there. I would just feel like I'm already behind to probably both players. Possibly a smaller 4bet rather than all in. I dunno.....
In my opinion AK is a fold at FR against very tight players who are 3-betting you, unless you know something in history of a weak 3-betting range.
If he has AK your splitting, 10/10 to QQ you're flipping and AA/KK you're crushed.
ak is not the nuts in FR, far from it. expect extremely high variance/long breakeven stretches if you play like this constantly. on bad months this will translate into very big downswings. keep it a little nitty, esp in multiway pots with heavy resistance pf. ak is just totally garbage OOP in FR to very active pf action.
thx so far guys!
I disagree somewhat with the other posts, for one thing there is a whopping 32.50 in dead money, so if the guy is felting QQ+ AK you have 38.8% equity, breakeven with 0 fold equity is 44.8% so you lose $12.70 when called
but if he folds just 28% you are breakeven, QQ+ AK is 24combos so 10combos of non-felting hands is enough to make the shove +EV, which is JJ, AQs so its not really that hard to have it be +EV to ship even if you are always behind when called
this is simplified a little to ignore the bb but its something you need to think about, with this much dead money in there you probably should shove AK barring the opponent being really nitty(which the weak read suggests he isn't)
also its somewhat counterintuitive but you actually want him to have a smaller calling range, in that you make more money if he reraises QQ+ AK but only calls with KK+, than you do if he raises JJ+ AQs+ AKo and calls with QQ+ AK even though in the former you have less than half the equity when called of the latter
basically its a semi-bluff shove and one you should be making pretty frequently even at FR
