Raise bigger on the flop and pot the turn so you dont have to worry about the river, as played I jam river all day, checking without reason is horrible.
It was an extremely fast shove, usually that to me means he's got excited he's hit. I'm fairly convinced he has the flush. He's fishy but not a maniac.
call but bet the river yourself.

I thought about that but figured he'd shove over any small bet and leave me no choice but to call. I was hoping he'd bet the river small enough for me to call with showdown value.
when I say "bet" i mean "shove". You're not looking to get away from this.

Seriously? Maybe I'm too conservative but these are the type of spots that lose me 100bbs. It's FR, I think at 6max I might be inclined to get it in.
Seriously. You're calling $58 to win $162 the way the hand played out needing ~25% equity to call here it's pretty likely you're good that often. However, we don't want to give Q's the chance to check back so we need to shove. I don't see how you can think of pot control when you have an spr of around .5 on the river. It's not like you can b/f for $30 and c/f is just bad.
I can see the point 'we need to be right 1 out of 3 times to make this profitable' but for me I put him on a flush and I figure I should lay it down. I guess I'm not factoring pot committment.
Recently, I've been reading players and saying 'he has the flush, I have trips/2p I should fold.', or 'he has trips, I fold my overpair' -' But I'm going to call to see anyway' and every friggin' time I pay off after guessing the guys hand correctly, he has it (the nuts). So recently I've been trusting my own reads. If I have 50bbs in the pot, I'll fold regardless if I think I'm beat. Beat is beat. Against vp40+ fish I loosen up and do get it in more often though.
Nit picking: We need to be right 1/4 times not 1/3 times.

It doesn't matter at all that you have 50bbs in the pot it matters what the size of the pot is. Thinking of being beaten as an absolute is bad. You think to yourself: "I'm beaten more than x% of the time so a fold is correct.".
Yeah good point, I do think in absolutes. But sometimes it's hard to see if these calls etc. are +EV longterm...guess I need HEM.
