I'm first in std raise both call. My question or comment is requested on the following, I hit my set on the flop and just continue with my CB (cbet size ok?)
tater min raises which always makes me take notice whenever I see min raise especially when chronic flat calls, beginning to think tater is possibly a set of queens but not quite sure I was actually think he was A-Q or set of queens, chronic by calling figured a draw of some sort most likely flush draw so I was a bit unsure and just decided to flat call as well. I'd like to say I was trying to disguise the strength of my hand but I really thought possibly ran into queens so just called.
u think a shove and get it in there is appropriate?
anyway, turn, i make a boat and the flush didn't get there so I'm not to concerned about chronic, so I decide to check and see what tater's play is, he shoves..then to my surprise stinking chronic calls. chronic being that 38/20 I'm still not real concerned I have a boat but I thought it may be possible for chronic to have pocket 7's BUT far more likely his flush draw. Tater i was really scared now had pocket queens I didn't look up the range for 5% using poker stove but I was thinking he's pretty much gonna call a raise on the button with a little bit wider range and after re-evaluating I thought it was 50/50 and actually put him on AQ offsuit and shoving on the turn with top pair kicker so went with it.
Now I realize my hand was really strong and this probably shouldn't have been a tough decision but any comments on my thought process. It is really difficult to try to assign these ranges to hands and I'm working on becoming better at it but I still find I'm struggling alot with it but it is improving.
Any comments welcome, good or especially critical ones...
Hi,
I really think that in the future you should omit the outcome of the hand. And only concentrate on the decisions you thought you had to make.
I think that the cbet or i should say the valuebet on the flop is fine the call of the minraise is fine as well, especially since tater seems to be very aggresive with an AF=5 you let him take the lead, i dont think you need to worry to much about them having a higher set, there are only 3 ways they can have a set of 7´s and 3 ways they can have a set of Q´s. Personally i would opt to reraise shove again, mostly since you have 2 villains in hand you could be up against several draws, flush and str8 draws.
On the turn the seven is a good card for you, now there is only 1 way of pocket 7´s out there and 3 ways of pocket Q´s of all the possible hands he could hold. So you should be happy about your hand. The check is fine i guess since you more or less have a lock on the hand and tater has shown interest in the hand with his minraise you give him an oppurtunity to hang himself.
Still some of the comments could be influenced by the outcome of the hand, but i still would opt for the 3bet shove on the flop.

noted.
I like re-raise shove on the flop.
You get ops and fds calling.
If we think QQQ all the time here we're getting too paranoid.
