Anyone else love these? Playing two at a time and I'm only getting better with these. Any thoughts on strategies? I'm all for the non turbo Double/Nothing

I've found them to be amazingly tight, particularly bubble or 1 off. Easy to take the blinds when they start going up.

love those! Of course they will play tighter then the usual sitngo's. People just hope to fold their way to the money.
Should play like bubble situations mostly from the beginning.
I really adore when the antes come in at 25/50, and it gets so easy to call shorstack shoves from the blinds Grin

It's $1-$100 buyin, half the table gets doubled up in the bank.

I like when it's down to five and you get good hands and just shove. Either steal or outdraw them. Towards the end when there are 6-7 people, nobodys friends.. probably why the chats turned off. :-P

These are by far my favorite sit n gos. Probably because I'm not good at the rest of them, I can't keep my cool and one bad beat throws me off. But these, when there are 6 people and you're shortstack, it's easy to steal because nobody wants to call and possibly lose. I've made my way back from $125 and $60 before.

I think people play like it's a regular tourney and that's why they lose.

I was going to ask AMT to post his thoughts on these double up sng's, but it doesn't seem he's seen them much before haha.

They have these on ipoker and ongame, and they somewhat easy and normally full of fish. Does anyone have any concrete thoughts on these, especially from a bankroll building aspect?

I love these myself somewhat, as they're incredibly easy to grind once you have a strategy down, and you don't have to worry about post bubble play.

I was hoping to suggest that maybe AMT could look to churn out a video on these with a maths based focus. They really only have two things to examine, early game and bubble play, and could be great for beginners to learn initially while looking to build a bankroll.

The rake to me seems to have some focus on whether these are profitable or not. The rake on non-turbo's is double that of the turbo's on stars double up's, something I haven't seen on other networks. Does anyone have much experience on how these vary? I know the double up turbo's on ipoker are incredibly fast, and have no ante which adds considerably to the variance.

I'd love to give these DoN's a try!! But my bank won't allow me to deposit onto PokerStars. Would someone mind swapping a small amount to my account on PS for the equal amount on FTP? I was thinking around $200-$300. I know it's an insignificant amount, but for the casual player like me, it'll be perfect. Anyone wanna help me out? Smile

I don't get why these would be fun, late game is probably the most exciting part of any tournament and these pretty much remove that. I gave them a shot for about 200 games and made money but if they become reg infested or nitty overall the party would defineately be over imo.

I don't find them fun, but i do find them easy. I'd be interested to see the profit of a decent sng player between 200 reg sngs and 200 of these

After playing about 50 low-stakes double or nothings I must agree that they are not much fun at all, but I found they are quiet profitable. So great roll builder imo for people who know what they are doing.
However, they do seem to attract regulars...

One negative thing that I noticed was the amount of soft-play going on at the lower levels when on the bubble. And it is tough to tell if they are just very fishy and dumb or if they are colluding.
Or some weird spots where a bigstack "protects" the shortest most desperate stack, and allows him to gain chips. For example, we were 6 players left, with one guy really short stacked - he had around 3BBs left and shoved while I was in the Bigblind with ca. 6 BBs left in my stack. I had KTs and would have called this shove. But the bigstack which was sitting to the shorstacks left came over the top once again, so I was forced to fold my hand. Bigstack showed 32o and shorstack won with 44 and was back up to a good stack. I felt really sick and "cheated on" for some reason because the bigstack basically "stole" my ITM spot from me and I busted out a couple hands later as 6th place finisher vs. said shorstack and Bigstack both calling my allin when I had AK. I noticed similar events occuring more often but was not involved in the hands myself. Maybe I am just paranoid but I felt something fishy was going on on several occasions.

Tried a little game yesterday. I'm not the best at poker, it's REALLY easy to tell that. Just put $15 on PS and wanted to see if I can get to $200 using these tourneys. I got all the way up to $100.75 and crashed in the $100 buyin Double/Nothing. I think I'll be trying again soon. I actually thought that was cool though.

It was very nice to see that Stars dropped the rake on these, possibly due to e-mails from 2+2ers. I have been doing poorly so far (I've played about 35) so I'd definitely like to see a video.

Personally, I'm liking these so far. I find that they are easier to multi than the regulars and I think your swings will be less. Also they are quicker than the regulars. I'm not sure what the long term profit on these will be as they are becoming polluted with a lot of regulars. Since the 6th when they lowered the rake, I've played 479 of the $20.80 ones and I'm running right at 14% roi.

I haven't really worked on ICM through SnG Wiz with these yet. I'm just kinda going off what I feel is right. I would be interested in seeing a video of these with ICMs and all.

I'm thinking these are actually harder to multitable, at least late in the game. In a regular SNG I can glance at stack sizes and HUD stats and determine what I should do very quickly or instantly a lot more often then I can late in a DoN. The dynamics at the bubble or near the bubble can vary wildly depending on what sort of players remain.
