Good decisions or not?

I am playing in a big Sunday night tourney; rebuys have closed. I have 20000 chips and I'm in the BB(Blinds are 600/1200). It is a fullring table and I have 2 limpers; the SB folds. I am dealt AQs and raise to 3600. Early limper folds and MP reraises to 7200; he is left with 2800 chips so I then push and he shows TT. Was mine a good decision?

Second question:

I have 9000 chips left and on the button. blinds are still 600/1200 and I have AJs. MP min raises and I then push. Good decision or should I have waited for a better opportunity? The next blind level was still 9 mins away.

Any input would be appreciated.

In the first scenario there have to be antes right? Regardless, raising 3x is too small. Shoving can't be bad unless you have some sort of read (e.g. you know the first player is an aggressive player who pretty much never limps) and with antes I am basically never checking my option -- there is too much money in the pot. If i'm not shoving I am raising at least to 6500. With any more I have a pot-committed stack (preflop anyway) so I may well be shoving most often.

Committing your stack after the overlimper reraised was mandatory -- even if he had had you covered. That kind of play is sometimes done with QQ-AA but it will be done with hands you are in better shape against way too often to justify a fold.

Second question is entirely read-dependent. It could be an easy decision or a difficult one depending on your read of the opponent and the circumstances -- you left out some important information like his stack size. Readless I think this is a very easy shove with antes and a pretty easy shove without them.

Cliff; thanks for the input. There were no antes in place and in the second instance his stack was 31000.
