He had called 2 barrels pretty light before but im not really sure what that means for this hand. I was trying to decide between a c/c or a small bet and fold if he shoved. I would check call because I think that he could be betting his 2 pairs or maybe even a Q(ive seen some pretty bad plays at this stake). I would bet small then fold because I think I could get value out of all Q's and 2 pairs and if he shoved over me I would know that he had a straight which I wouldn't be able to tell if I didn't bet and he shoved. I also feel like a pussy if i check here .

I don't know if I understand the question, are you worried about the straight or are you asking whether a check would get more money in.

o haha sorry i accidentally left out the river....it was a 8 and i'm asking about action on the river. I am worried about the straight and I wanna know how to get the most money in if im good and the least if im not.

I think I like the check call line, but this can really differ from opponent to opponent I think. For me it depends on how capable he is of calling very thin and bluff reraising over you, if I have a good read then I might take the bet/fold, but without reads I check/call.
