Local live NL tournament 60$ buy in 110 players 9 left. 1700 first place prize.

Blinds are 8k 4k

Hero has 45k

Hero is in the HJ with 7 7

Folds to Hero. Hero raises 25k. Button (big stack) shoves all in. He did think before he shoved. Hero called. Button turns over AQos. Hero out of tournament.. Should I be folding or open shoving here pre? I guess open shoving maximizes my FE. Thank you.

Always shove, making it 3x here is generally bad for a bunch of reasons.

With only ~6bbs you have nearly lost your fold equity, I would be willing to open push very wide from the HJ as you might not get many other chances. Use max FE now while you have some, betting over 1/2 your stack seems a weird play, really just an allin, it might just actually get a few extra folds but in this spot I would be very happy to go up against any of these extra that might fold. Most money will be in the top 3 places. If you do double up you get some decent FE back and have a good shot, if you just get the blinds it's not too bad a result, folding would be terrible

In this spot, open shoving while fist pumping and dry humping the dealer= Max +EV
