confusing spot first hand of tournament 0 history on villain. Note his click back was instant. Confused the hell out of me, what line should I take? Villains firing 99% of rivers right?

Probably folding is best, his sb completing range at these stakes probably includes quite some 3x type hands, also 44, 33, 55, A2 or 76 could credibly have played this way. I do think its possible though, that he would snapminraise some A7o type hand that called flop, but wether this villain would do so is unclear, aswell as the question if he would fire river with those hands.
At the end of the day it is early at a smallstakes mtt, where most opponent don't bluff too much, so just folding seems good.
Also you should defenitely iso raise 88 in the button against one limper!

I am fine with the call preflop - a raise is a reasonable alternate line. Playing it passively by just set mining seems ok, you don't know much about the utg but has probably got something of value. One of problems with set mining is getting an interested customer when you hit, here there is a chance but if the limp was from a late position, hence weaker, I would prefer the more aggressive raise line.
On the flop you can expect to have the best hand but when check raised 88 starts to look pretty weak. I would fold and note the interesting play from utg.
