I thought it would be nice if we had a thread where 180man grinders post hands for discussion

I like calling usually.. depends on the reg, do you have any stats? those are kind of important here.
but yeah, alot of regs are shoving 50%+ of their hands with 10bbs and under on the btn.
90%+ in the sb with 10bbs and under. So call or fold here really just depends on the stats..

I am calling against a reg but against a recreational might fold UTG+1 has 1bb and a recs range might be more pairs and Ax type of hands. Thinking UTG+1 will be out next hand he might fold some broadway hands to get 5$ more.

have not put much volume in recently which i feel is key to makin the right plays but i was in an interesting spot last night i would like advice. i feel it could be seen as standard - but maybe not - there are two plays in the hand i would like advice on and at the min i dont want to say which player i was.
13 left in a $2.5 180 turbo. say for talk sake all players are average random players - folds to cutoff who shoves for 11 bbs with 67s ,sb finds a9o with a 12bb stack and shoves.
Is this hand standard in both spots or perhaps the cutoff raise a bit light, or against a probably tight cutoff is the a9 call a bit light ??

Looks to me like 3 tables left, I was a 180 man reg, though mainly 4.4 and 12s, dont think ive played more than 10 games since they changed the buyins though. Easy call imo for the original post. longtraw : In co 11bb with 67s with 13 left is a bit too loose, with a9o in sb with 12bb, im gonna rather fold and use shoving opportunities myself than calling in a spot where the crap players are tightening up their shoving ranges. Probably played less than 50 2.2s lifetime, but from what i saw people were pretty wimpy on the shoves near the bbl.

I'm primarily a 10nl micro cash player who has played various sng formats over the last 18 months, about 600 games in total on various sites, just when I've fancied a break from the cash and what Ive found is I'm FAR more profitable playing sng's than cash.
I've decided as of 1st March to grind the 180's on Stars. I'm rolled for the $4.50 regulars (200bi) but not sure as to start at the $2.50 turbos?
any advice?

4.50s are much less variance and a good player can probably achieve around 100% roi max as opposed to around 20-30% max for the 2.50 turbos. However, in the long run you will probably want to play the turbos because there is a LOT more traffic for them at the higher buy in levels and you'll want to move up/play higher eventually to maximise your hourly/profit making potential etc... The non turbos may be a good place to start as they are lowish variance + play much more similar to cash games. Btw be careful just because 600 isn't a big sample especially if you are playing multi-table SNGS. Anyway gl, I have a couple of series on here about 180s which will hopefully help you out if you are interested.

this isnt a strategy post. just out of interest are there many players out there who would have won all the 180 turbo sngs on offer at stars - $2.5, $8, $15, $35 and the $3.50 rebuy. so far i have won a load of $2.50s, one $8, and had two top 4 finishes at the $3.50 rebuys. at some stage in the future i would love to be pressin to have won them all - the list would have to be smallish right ?? say 40 - 50 people ??

Cheers for the advice, yeah very aware 600 is a microscopic sample size, will start at the 4.50's and start maybe 6 tabling and build it from there before moving to turbos.
I'm watching your series now and any other 180 content I can find.
Once again thanks
