I'm looking forward to watching this! What program do you use to get that BBs displayed in the top left corner?

Great vid so far! Say we are in his spot and your image is more aggresive. Is floating an option at these stack sizes with Air? I feel like everyone exept for the absolute maniacs would shut down on everything exept for A,K,Q and BD draws filling in. Is this going to be plus ev?

Bottom left would you ever limp behind expecting the bb to shove and opening the door? Also induceing squeezes from behind. I also feel like against this type of player you might get less respect on flops if you limp behind.

I'm pretty sure its TableNinja. It got such a function at least ![]()

yah its TN and it only works on stars
i think there is a line in the HUD for this on FTP but but it never worked for me
The program that shows the blinds is indeed TableNinja.

I wouldn't mind it. The only problem is the stacks are kind of awkward for players to iso behind me and the BB would have to be shoving a pretty wide range, otherwise we'd be seeing like a 5-way flop. I've been isoing that limper a lot and I've been pretty active so I think raising is pretty good. If BB flats his last 333, I'm sure the limping weak player will call almost all the time.
GREAT VIDEO, I LIKE
Finally someone who is not just explaining standard plays. I almost fell asleep in the "MTT PRINCIPLES" series. In addition the video applys perfectly to what i need because im making the transition from MS to HS. I like the powerpoint explanations as well.
I love your adaption on pre-raisesizes, actually almost no one does this and i think there is a lot of value to take by using "exploitable" raise-sizes against weaker opponents. The postflop-concepts with betting on the bigger side with a hand and on the smaller side with nothing when there is no need to balance is sth that i also do since a few months and i think it works.
If you dont mind, can you explain your passive defending strategy (flat SB or BB) against the different position opens from different opponents with different stacksizes.... and your postflop-plans on different flop-textures!? Because i see that many players (good players) have a completely different approach to that. Because i feel quite unsure wether or not to make the call sometimes.
Anyway thanks ![]()
It might have been boring cus it had "principles" in the title lol
i really liked it even though it was prolly too abc for me at this stage.
Hey Patschuel,
A lot of your question is basically "how to play poker out of position" but I'll give some general advice.
1) Vs active opponents, it's never unprofitable to shove up to 25bb vs their opens with pocket pairs.
2) Vs players who can't hand-read, you should play more straight-forwardly. Vs players who can hand-read, you should be raising flops that hit your perceived defending range hard (i.e 9Tx).
3) If you are unsure, you should be folding a lot OOP and not making calls pre for pot odds. But if you are flatting with pot odds, make sure you flat with hands that flop good top pairs. I.e TJo is way better to flat than 45s because 45s will always be spanked by overcards.
I'm going to make a lot of videos (hopefully) in the future that will see some postflop spots. Also MTT Principles is a great series for learning MTT principles and it had some nuggets for mid to HS players as well I reckon.
By far one of the most interesting MTT vids ive seen in a while.. Like how u stopped once a while to explain stuff in the powerpoints.. However I think an explenation that when someone has a big gap btween vpip and pfr is a fish shouldnt be in this vid.. These are midstakes tourneys and you should focus your explanation on that type of audiance too.
But great work.. looking forward to your next vid.
Thoroughly enjoyed this vid and the follow up to this. I'm a cash game player, but I do play a few MTT's a month (just a donk, not serious), this was very useful/interesting to me.
