I played this hand today while playing my Sunday session in the BIgger $11. I was wondering how most people would proceed here. I am presuming there are 3 options. (1) fold turn (2) call C/R and fold river if he bets (3) call C/R and call river when a blank hits. Villains stats are 19/17/11 FCB0 with no special reads or dynamics.

rob, its an interesting spot if we are playing an aggro thinking player, but do you really think an unknown goes c/c flop c/r turn as a bluff? what hands can he bluff here. I know i told you it seemed kinda gross bc its unlikely to think you connect a ton on a monotone board like this to have a strong enough hand to withstand some playing back but i think its a lot more likely that villains if they do bluff do it otf by c/ring there. If he c/c, c/r the turn as a bluff he is either really good, or lucky fish that happened to get a crazy bluff past you that overall should be -ev. i think its a fold ott to the c/r.

I mean you of all people know the strength of the bet fold button against weak villains. (livepokerz)

shocked we havent seen anyone else chime in yet

Do we ever check back the turn? My thinking was checking the turn just gives free cards to FDs that we can get value from and a club hitting the river is such a disaster that we can't get any further value otr when we have the best hand.

I just had a friend tell me that he would check back the turn and call non-club river bet.

I fail to see how that gets value from our hand as it rarely induces bluffs from missed FDs in my limited experience playing MTTs.

I think the bet/ fold line here is fine. We get value from single card club draws jx etc. I know how tempting it is to think that he doesn't have it though,

yah rob checking like you said just allows him to help realize your equity, and if he does have a weaker holding then you and we see the river it may scare him off of calling when a lot of his range should be checking the river as well i suspect
