Hi,
I would like to know which software is better? and what are the main diferences.
Also would like to know is it worth to buy HLM/PT for playing at micro stakes?Smile
currently I'm playing without any soft but I really would like to improve my game. Maybe there some free stuff which will be good at begging?
Thank you for all answers.

I also use PT3. I tried HEM's demo but wasn't convinced to change. If you play Rush Poker then PT3 should strongly be considered as they have a HUD that is compatible with rush. (I don't the HEM does yet, only stats injected in players notes.)
PT3 also has a 60 day, nearly full featured demo! Why not check them both out and see what works best for you.

I'm also a PT3 user having tried both. I agree a lot with the customization stuff stated in this thread regarding PT3, and I didn't go with HEM for a number of reasons that came up during the trial.
That said... there is no reason for you to not try both pieces of software as both of them offer a free trial.

As someone who uses both, I can tell you they are both good products. The comments above about PT3 being better for advanced users is true. Other than the advanced statistics and HUD though, the products are identical in the rest of their abilities. I ended up switching to HEM after the first of the year for the following reasons:
1. The HUD, although not as customizable, already had the advanced stats I was building in PT3 included in HEM. The interface to setup the HUD was better in HEM. HEM has the ability to export the HUD and modify it outside of the software and import it back in. This is leading to some 3rd party software that gives you the ability to graphically manipulate the HUD. PT3 isn't even trying to go down this road yet.
2. Response times to customer request and leading edge development, other than Rush(kudos to PT3 on that one), seem to be better with HEM. And now that they've joined forces with other products it only furthers their lead in the market.
I keep both products up to date but primarily use HEM since the beginning of the year. I just think the software and the developers are more customer focused.

I use HEM but I am thinking of also getting PT3 and trying it. I like HEM but I am a programmer and a bit of a dabbler and I use to like writing my own sql queries to find stuff out about my game. I used to have poker office and with this it was straightforward to "phrase" sql to get my answers but in HEM the tables seem un-intuitive and under documented. The forums help but usually if the info is not already on the forum I lose interest before somebody replies.
I have looked at the PT3 and the tables seem much clearer and also there is a dedicated document explaining them!
So perhaps an slightly odd reason but if you like to play with sql then I recommend (with the caveat that I have not really tried it yet) PT3.
Cheers,

I switched to HEM because I didnt understand how to work with poker tracker
the only thing I miss in HEM is the sample size shown in the HUD
in PT you can see for example that he folded to 3bet 8/10 times while in HEM its always shown in percentages (sucks if you play against new opponents every day)

FWIW, I lost a hard drive yesterday that had both my HEM and my PT3 databases; no backup btw. So after re-installing both programs I "found" 600K hands of the limits I play. It took HEM over 2.5 hrs to import all of them and it only took PT3 just over 1.5 hours to import all the hands.

you can actually see the sample size in the pop up of the stat
