Hi
I recently lost my entire lifetime HM2 database and don't have a backup
Basically this is what happened, one day HM2 decides all of a sudden to be unable to connect to postgreSQL, for NO REASON since there weren't any updates, changes or issues whatsoever. (in fact it was running perfectly couple hours earlier)
I tried some guides / FAQ / etc but couldn't fix the problem, so as I was getting more frustrated I decided to just run the installer to repair it, as I wouldn't expect it to remove any data
After reinstallation, HM2 was working fine but I couldn't see my DB anymore, any hands either.
Now my question is, is there any chance to recover it?
Can it possibly still be there physically in some folder and be reimported?
All my player notes are gone too T_T
The only things that stayed are my HUD configuration, seat preferences, filters..

The notes are in your database so they probably are not lost.
During the reinstallation did you reinstall Postgres too?
I think its best if you contact us directly via mail: hm2support@holdemmanager.com as it sounds like we need to take a look into your installation.

Yes, I reinstalled postgre as well since it seemed to be the source of the problem
I already contacted your support and Chris tried to help me, we had to reschedule another TV session since he refuses to operate without all the win7 updates installed.
I am, however, still unable to install all of them as I'm encountering a large number of failures and errors. Googling only resulted in drastic solutions such as format C or total win7 wipes, which I am not going to do for obvious reasons.

As long as your windows is not updated and not running without problems this can always happen again. So it makes no sense to try to recover any data.
So i would recommend the following:
Create a backup of your system and especially postgresql and holdemmanager, reinstall window 7, update it to the latest patch level and then we can try to restore your data.

LOL
well it would make sense so I can retrive the backup and switch to PokerTracker
And no, I'm not going to risk with a system wipe.
What I will do is sit here clueless and peacefully wait for someone who doesn't have an obsessive-compulsive disorder and can, as a normal person, get over the fact that I don't have a couple office / language updates.
I'll also give him 3 bucks to buy himself a soda.

We can try to help you via remote support without the windows updates but if your windows won't update properly it indicates a larger problem and we may not be able to fix your problems, or if we do manage to fix them the problems may return. This is why we try and get the customers to get their windows OS problems fixed before we try and spend valuable remote support time trying to fix something we may not be able to fix. I personally reinstall windows once a year whether I need to or not. On my old XP machine I used to do it ever 6 months.
