Had another particularly tilting crash today, can't warn people enough to not get HEM2. I just can't believe how many bugs are in the release builds and these bugs are supremely tilting and definitely costing me money.
HEM 2 is the biggest piece of garbage on the market, the developers should be ashamed. I especially love being in the middle of a big pot and the HUD inexplicably just disappears but then shows back up as soon as the hand is over. I've sent emails trying to get my money back but haven't heard back, big surprise there.
i am really wondering what hem thinks of their software. as soon as a post pops up somewhere asking if he should buy it, basically everyone always recommends against it.
not really a good sign.
How come its been out 6 months and they havent been able to fix the bugs? I cant wrap my head around it.
Hi Guys.
Please make sure that you have updated to the most recent version of HM2. If you still have a problem, please send me a PM with your contact information and I will have a tech support person get in contact with you personally .
There was a Stars update that broke the Zoom HUD this AM and we have an update for that internally already and it will be pushed live in the next few hours. I will post a link to it here if it is available before we actually push the build live.
As to crashes, as mentioned above I would like to get someone to help you resolve it and at the same time would like to pass along our own internal data from monitoring of same.
Yesterday 2.5 in every 1,000 HM2 sessions experienced a crash (about 0.25%).
Of that 0.25%, 40% of them were attributable to a change that affected some users that did not have a Windows cultural setting elected.. It is a one-time issue for those users as it does not recur after they do set the Windows cultural settings. That leaves 1.5 of 1000 users that experienced a crash using HM2 in the last 24 hours that was not associated with the cultural setting.
As I said in the outset, this isn't to minimize or ignore any issue you have and please send me a PM with contact info. But I did feel it was appropriate to put it in context of the overall user base yesterday and to request that everyone make sure they are running the most current version.
In addition to the update coming out for Zoom today, there is another update coming out in the next couple of days with both some new stats and some updates to the calculations for some vs. Squeeze stats and 3-Bet stats that involve continuation bets.
Lastly, we are in the final stages of testing an update that will come out in the next couple of weeks for players with low amounts of RAM or extremely large databases. In most cases, the caching of Hero hands which is new in HM2 allows for much faster loading of reports and for running queries. But for those with limited RAM or an unusually large # of Hero hands to cache (over 1 million), the update will identify such and will reduce the # of hands that would otherwise be cached.

IF hm2 wouldnt have performance problems....what are the makes-it-much-better-changes compared to hm1? (i use hm1 for 12 tabling 1/2 and im pretty happy...)
Hi ambtndplyr
In the update for a couple of weeks from now, we are also tweaking several things that impact users that are multi-tabling a very large # of tables. There are actually several very minor changes we are making with users such as yourself in mind and not one major change.
Since you are twelve tabling, I would be happy to provide you with a link to this internal build in the next few days (before it is officially released).
Jim
Sorry for the derail but now that we got the boss in here ![]()
Is the work on ENET support now in progress?

cool. still, what makes hm2 so much better than hm1?
Hi PrinzVonHapunkt
The adding of support for ENET will begin after we release the update that I referenced above we are targeting in the next couple of weeks.
One reason that it has not been started already is we were waiting on documentation from the network on the hand history formatting but have not received it. If you and other user's will also ask that they respond to that request it will make the process go much quicker.
As it stands, we have all the hands we need but will have to manually determine all of the rules and standards they are using in their current hand history formats. Something we can definitely do but it is not as efficient and thus will take longer.
Thanks
Jim

imo the hud, and only the hud.
the problem is the usability of the rest.
so the hud is 2times better than the old one, the usability of the rest is 3times worse than the old one.
just 2 examples:
1) you cant filter for "hands vs", so you basically cant analyze your hands vs another villain, yeah, there is this vs opponent tab but its just a completely ridiculous and retarded way
2) just look at the filter tab, advanced filter is now 7lines or so, compared to 25lines or so from hem1 - creating filter in hem1 was way faster, if you are not a basic user who uses the fast filters.
i could go on and on... i use hem2 for playing, but as soon as i start analysing i go back to hem1.
If you and other user's will also ask that they respond to that request it will make the process go much quicker
I actually just did that ![]()
Now we'll see how my charme works on them
The short list is the following:
1. NoteCaddy Basic note capabilities come standard with HM2 and 70 additional notes + custom note capability come with NoteCaddy Premium. Effective use of NC is extremely powerful to your game.
2. Street By Street HUD Updating (PokerStars, Party, and iPoker currently).
3. vsHero stats to show how opponents play against you.
4. Several other HUD enhancements including: HUD Charts, Improved Hand and Player Note capabilities from within HUD, interactive HUD designer, instantly change selected HUD from the table.
5. Expanded hand filtering that includes bet sizing and detailed player actions.
6. Expanded Opponent Analysis Capability
7. HM Sync to enable you to keep the databases on 2 computers in sync for hands played on the other and for a secure remote back-up for all of your databases. Free for 6 months and then $20 per year.
8. Over 800 stats
9. Instant graph options for every report.
10. Integrated free iPhone and iPad application.
11. New replayer with Street By Street equity chart and integration to Twitter, iPhone/iPad and your MyHM hand database online.
12. Heat maps for won/loss by starting hands and frequency of starting hands vs. expectation.
13. Hand import speeds that are 3-4 times faster than HM1.
14. Community tools such as HM2 Widgets shared on the Home view.

Good suggestion and something we can easily add to the filter options for reports.

Please IM me on this one. The ability to build custom filters it significantly expanded and for most the tool for building them is more intuitive. Having said that, if you feel differently I would like to do a TeamViewer session with you and get more feedback as to why first hand.
Thanks for feedback.
Jim
fifilein's first suggestion about the hands vs a specific opponent only as a filter is particularly important to me (and others I know) as well.
As for the second suggestion, is there any documentation/information about creating the custom filters?

aside from the performance issues, HEM2 is leap years beyond any other software out there. The filters alone are incredible, Notecaddy is invaluable, integration with other tools is superb, and overall capability and usability of the software is incredible... just those damn bugs and performance.
Get those corrected and HEM2 will not have any competitors remotely close to its capability.
A similar question to Shuttle's.
Is there going to be some documentation on the db schema? Or will anybody capable of SQL be left trying to scramble through the 'Sticky' 'Formulas for Every Stat....' posts on the Custom Reports forum that are really difficult to follow. PT3 has a large detailed pdf describing the use of the individual tables - this is much better than trying to reverse engineer a query.

Thanks for the feedback. We have been heads down for a few months working to get to that point and the finish line is in sight. There has been very little focus on anything else and I apologize that we were unable to resolve every issue quickly.
The team is larger than ever and the tunnel vision on knocking out remaining issues is very much locked on and we are measuring the progress daily using a number of different metrics that we are holding ourselves up against.
Thanks
Jim

As mentioned above, we have been tunnel visioned on the HM2 updates and will continue to be for the next few weeks as we push out some of the last of the updates concerning any remaining bugs and/or performance issues.
In addition, some of the updates we are doing (such as the next one) will involve a DB update that could break 3rd party software that is dependent on the old schema.
Having said this, within the next few weeks we will get a developer started on this. Not sure yet if it will be in the form of a DB Scheme or some kind of API.
Thanks

On the Home tab of HM2 there is an "HM2 TV" player that has dozens of 2-3 minute videos on very specific topics and they are translated into 7 different languages.
Here are a few videos that are found in the HM2 TV resource that you might find helpful on filters:

Hi Guys.
As a follow-up to the above, please see the FAQ below on how to manually update HM2/HM1 for the fix we have for Zoom games after the recent Stars update.
This will be incorporated into the next official releases but the manual update is rather simple to do in the interim.

There is a new version of SNGW for HM2 that Dennis (creator of SNGW and also a lead developer on HM2) is in the final staging of development and testing on. It is in alpha testing now and Dennis expects it to be released in Beta within the next 45 days.
It is completely integrated and exclusive to HM2 and new features include:
1. Beta Feature: New quiz mode that allows users to adjust opponent hand ranges before selecting the hero’s hand range. Previously, users had to rely on the default opponent hand ranges in quiz mode.
2. Beta Feature: Improved custom hand editor that allows user to modify existing hands or create new hands from scratch.
3. Feature To Be Added During Beta: Custom opponent hand rankings will allow users to specify the exact order with which opponents rank hands.
4. Feature To Be Added During Beta: Empirical position adjustment will modify ICM equity based on the hero’s current position.
Thanks
Jim
How much will HM2 be after all the bugs are sorted out and the new features added?
(To any other DC'ers) Are there any free HUD's which are OK for small stakes SNG players looking to start using a HUD? I've heard of SNGEGT is this the best free HUD in people's opinion?
If the bugs get sorted out and SNGWiz is integrated well I will definitely be getting HM2 but I just wanted something until then.
Also thanks for coming onto the thread Jim and answering the complaints/queries.

like in hem1, but PLEASE dont make USD won, thats not helpfull when playing several stakes, make BB won vs player.

we can oc do a teamviewer session, but i can show the difference in one screenshot:

upper one hem2
lower one hem1
should be pretty obvious already, just by arranging them horizontally you wasted a lot of time, increase the number of necessary scrolls by 5(?) times, and made it harder to find because the list the eye sees is smaller. (sidenote: a search box which filters would be awesome, but thats secondary))
