I'm watching a DC video at the moment on VLC player and it's no good for when I want to skip back. Almost every video I can't type notes fast enough and have to repeat each section three or four times to take notes.

Which of the many video players is the best for skipping back? I want to be able to skip back a set chunk of time at the press of a key, and it should be about 30 seconds imo.

Can't use the player on the website as my screen is too small to play it and see it and have MS word (or any word processor) open too to type.

For now I thought of a solution (annoying one)

Watch each video three or four times through from beginning to end and type what I can each time until full set of notes. And learn to type 150wpm Smile

VLC is not a very good player, get Media Player Classic with the CCCP.

It plays almost everything, is more lightweight and more intuitive.

Our player can resize to the size of your browser window as well (it's the button next to the full screen button), which should help with the issues you're having with resolution.

FWIW, WMV is really inferior to MP4, but we provide it because some people don't have alternative players installed (i.e. they use Windows Media Player). The quality of the MP4 files is higher than larger-sized WMVs in general though.

Overall, it sounds like you're taking notes in Word/other - wanted you to know that we have notes functionality built into the streaming player as well, and you can minimize the screen when paused (there's a button marked "Minimize" in the upper-right hand part of the screen).
