Yo,

I am on a new PC and can not get postgresql to install.
Right at the end of the install I get the following error.

problem running post-install
error reading postgreql.conf

I am a PC noob and this is really tilting as its been goning on for 4 days.

Please help

Hey man, did you install postgresql manually? Do you need it for HEM? Maybe try the HEM-installler, it installs PostgreSQL on the fly.

Regarding your problem - the problem is that there´s an "s" missing (postgresql.conf).



Just joking. It sounds as if it was a problem with the access rights of the user you used to install it, like the installer installed it into a directory where you need admin rights. Maybe - if you didn´t do it - start the install routine as "Administrator".

Still getting error message

Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly. Error reading file C:/Program Files (x86)/PostgresSQL/8.4/data/postgresql.conf

Id uninstall 8.4 and try install 8.3 as it was pretty easy for me and works
