Hey six3s,

What are you looking for out of vids about PT3? I'll ask around and see if any instructors are using it, but pretty much everyone I know is either still using PT2 or has switched over to HEM, which I strongly recommend. We'll definitely be doing more videos featuring HEM in the future, but I'll see if I can find any members of our team who know PT3 really well.

Let us know what you're looking for in software and in vids and I'll see if we can lend a hand in one way or another. In the meantime, if you get a chance, check out the vids we're doing in Tool Time and see if you see anything you like. Smile

thanks,
Rob

I've been using PT3 pretty thoroughly so I might bust out my video making skills and produce one.

I'd expect you'd be after generating custom stats? using the reporting tools?
any thing else? I'm at work at the moment - I'll post again when I'm in front of my home PC

I haven't used pt3 yet, since I am a long time user of pt2/pahud I decided to wait until pt3 is finished to start using it. From what I've read about it it looks like its going to be a pretty amazing tool. I don't know much about holdem manager but it seems to me like the experience edge in development of these has to go to pokertracker/pahud team. Basically with my limited knowledge of the other tracking software out/in development I would have to put my money on pt3 being the best one.

I just wanted to chime in early and let you guys know that when pt3 is out of beta I would be interested in seeing how some experts are taking advantage of all the new features in it.

I'm sure PT3 will be great when it's released in full, but I'm not really sure that it's going to have any significant advantages over its competitors given how competitive the market is at this point, and how much time other people have spent making significant improvements over old PT functionality.

For example, from what I've heard from PokerEV, it sounds like when it's out of beta it will be amazing. HEM is already out of beta and is incredible and improves on a daily basis, so right now, IMO, the biggest edge goes to the people who are releasing rapid updates of the software and listening to what customers are demanding right now, not to the people who have been coding trackers for the longest. The world of trackers has changed so much from first-gen to second-gen that I'm more inclined to give the edge to the companies who are releasing rapid updates now, as opposed to releasing promises about what revolutionary things we will see.

Anyway all MHO and I acknowledge having a lot of personal bias for the product I've been happy with for months. If it weren't for the relativity inherent in judging what the "best" piece of software out there is, I would definitely put money up against PT3 being the "best," given how many different competitors and innovators are out there now who code really really really well. I'm pretty hardcore when it comes to my demands and I'm accustomed to running betas of everything, so I'm a different sort of user than others might be, but I want functionality now, which has fueled my reasoning behind why I run what I run. Smile

Regardless whenever PT3 comes out of public beta and is actually released, if we have some instructors who are using it and know it well I will ask them to do vids on how to get the most out of it. My personal feelings are that the days where one HUD/tracker combo (PT+PAHUD) stood tall above everyone else are long gone -- there are just too many very competent people working on alternatives these days, which really is great for us. I'm really excited to see what comes of the big three (HEM, PT3, and PokerEV) in upcoming months as PT3 and PEV get out of beta/alpha and into wide public release.

I'm a HEM addict exactly for the reasons Entity mentioned. The guy listens to his customers, and adds consistently adds features with every patch. You think you absolutely need 4-bet% stats sorted by position? No problem, he'll add it if you ask. 5-bet% stats? No problem either...

MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Poker Office where the developers have been promising updates for months. Do NOT waste money on PO!!! All you'll get for your money is an out-dated piece of software license (yes, only a 1-year license) instead of something you can really use as well as the competition. If you really need the EV calculation done automatically, get Holdem Indicator and run it parallel to HEM/PT3/PEV.

I really like Holdem Indicator for HU...
