I close browser, mail client, instant messenging client.
I hide icons on desktop and concentrate ONLY on poker.
Just music sometimes.

OP, do exactly that, if you´re serious about the game. Anything else will cost you money.
Thanks guys, i really want to get good but i get bored concentrating on poker and havent played in a long time without watching something. I am going to stop immediately and learn to use my time in between hands productively by watching players, taking notes etc.

How many tables do you play! You can also start to play more tables once you feel comfortable with the limit you play. Still you should make it a habit to take notes and observe.
I play 4 at 50NL. Also in holdem manager is bb/100 big blinds or big bets?

bb/100 = big blinds.
im not sure if on holdem manager it says bb or BB though and while googling the question a few people said in holdem manager BB still means big blinds, just wanted to clear it up as i cant get a definate answer
bb/100 is HEM is big blinds 100% certain ![]()
No TV, No IM, No surfing the web, No phone calls. Just poker. Sometimes I listen to music but even that can be distracting. You are playing poker to win and make money right? Then That should be your sole focus. Do the other stuff when you are not playing.
Okay, enough lecturing, now some advice. Here are some tips I use to help keep me focused on the game.
1. Observe other players and try and put them on a hand even when you are not involved in the hand. Pay attention to their betting patterns.
2. Take notes on players actions.
3. Poker stove all in situations or big calls even when you arent involved in the hand and calculate the EV if you have time. This will pay off in the long run as you will be able to get a pretty instant idea of your own equity and EV in spots.
4. Multi-table (within reason) Right now I only play on a max of four tables at a time. Anything more and my winrate takes a dive.
5. Talk yourself through hands and actions. If people saw me playing they would think i'm crazy. I talk to myself while I play. Nutty I know but it works and keeps me involved in the game. Daniel negreanu does this live all the time.
6. Phil Galfond recommends asking yourself these two questions constantly while you play " Am I playing my A Game?"&" Why am I taking this action"
This ended up a lot longer than I thought but I hope it helps. I am bored at work so thought I would take the time and give a detailed response.
bb/100 is HEM is big blinds 100% certain
yes :-) but you can also have HEM show you the BB /100 just go to the add stats and select it (should be in the category "general information or sth.) and add it then it will be in the last column of your report. move it from there to where you want to have it (replace the bb for example) and press refresh --> that's it.
So you play 4 tables 50NLSH and get bored? What is your VPIP and PFR? maybe you play to nitty and leave out valueable preflop spots?
